Fans love theGrand Theft Autofranchise for its weird and wonderful characters. Many of its characters are reprehensible people involved in nefarious activities, but they are much loved anyway. Some of the side characters pop up from time to time in variousdifferent missions, and gamers wish that they appeared more frequently.

However, a bunch of characters that appear over the five games are a cause of annoyance and hated by the fans. Here areGrand Theft Auto’s back catalog of characters that haven’t endeared themselves to the fans.
10Lester Crest: GTA 5
A lot of the heists inGrand Theft Auto 5wouldn’t come to fruition without Lester Crest. He is an old friend of Michael, and he is vital to the story. However, he’s also one of the most annoying characters the franchise has ever seen.
He is viewed sympathetically at first as he has a disease that destroyed his muscles, leaving him wheelchair-bound. But as each mission he’s involved in comes and goes, his snarky comments get tiresome. He also takes a finders fee for heists he isn’t even involved in, which really grates on fans.

9Amanda De Santa: GTA 5
Michael’s yoga-loving wife, Amanda is a constant irritation to him, shouting at him and calling him out for his every minor misdeed. She leaves him for her yoga instructor which doesn’t endear her to the fans. She is an ex-stripper and loves to do a bit of shoplifting in her spare time, so she is a colorful character.
Shoplifting isn’t exactly the crime of the century in the world of Los Santos, but she is nothing but trouble for Michael in his post-retirement life. No wonder he gets back into the crime business. Also, one of the most irritating side missions in the game is the yoga activity. It’s hard to skip and takes up the players' time when they want to be progressing to the next mission.

8English Dave: GTA Online
GTA Onlinehas plenty of irritating side characters, not to mention the irritatingreal-life players in the game, trying to kill gamers as they navigate around Los Santos. English Dave is the most irritating character on the online feature.
The dread that players feel when they get a call from this character is well-known. On completion of the Cayo Perico Heist, English Dave constantly calls to ask the player to deliver random supplies to the island party. Before certain updates, the calls couldn’t be cut off, which was even more annoying.

7Catalina: GTA 3 & San Andreas
Catalina featured primarily inGTA 3and did not endear herself to fans of the franchise. Her reckless behavior and deception were two traits that grated on gamers.

By the time she appears again inSan Andreas, she has cheated on Carl Johnson and ran off with Claude, before attempting to kill him for her own gain. He survives and gets his own back on her when he blows up a helicopter she’s in with a rocket launcher. Out of all the annoying characters in the franchise, Catalina is the one who ultimately gets her just deserts, and it’s very satisfying for all the fans out there who hated her guts.
6Roman Bellic- GTA 4
Roman is a constant irritation to players inGTA 4. He’s the cousin of Niko and is responsible for a lot of his problems. He’s a gambling addict and has severe money problems.

His phone calls to players are a constant pain and an interruption to the game. His appearance inGTA 4is thankfully his only one. Rockstar Games appear to have heeded the message from fans that they hate him and don’t wish to reacquaint with him any time soon.
5Tonya Wiggins: GTA 5
By far the most annoying character inGTA 5is Tonya Wiggins. She works as a prostitute outside the liquor store and is a crack addict. She works with Franklin on the tow truck mission, which is a fun little activity to take part in, it’s just a shame Tonya has to come along for the ride.
The player can’t mute her which is a shame because she doesn’t stop talking with her potty mouth when in the tow truck with Franklin. He seems to be as unenamored with her as the players are.

4Sessanta and KDJ Moodyman: GTA Online
These two reprobates appear inGTA Online. They are part of the auto shop business and players find them excruciatingly annoying as they disrupt missions with their pointless phone calls. They aren’t even worth visiting if you arebored onGTA: Online.
It’s a real shame as the auto shop missions can be some of the best in the game. However, they are worth avoiding because of these two characters.

3Officer Tenpenny: GTA San Andreas
Law enforcement are a general thorn in the side of any player inGTA. They always turn up to spoil the fun, but not many of them are more than a moving non-speaking figure in a uniform. This is where Officer Tenpenny was different. He plays an active part in the narrative ofSan Andreas, murdering his fellow officers and backstabbing everyone.
The one thing he has going for him is that he is voiced by the legendary Samuel L Jackson. But not even the Pulp Fiction star’s dulcite tones can make this character likable.

2Kent Paul: GTA Vice City & San Andreas
How can a character who is supposed to be on the player’s side, be so annoying? Meet Kent Paul. The pathological liar who thinks he’s some kind of criminal mastermind. He gets on players' nerves as soon as he turns up inVice Citywith his annoying accent and stupid hairstyle.
His contacts with biker gangs are useful but on the whole, he is a major pain the player could do without in the game. He briefly appears inSan Andreasin a storyline involving a new English band he has brought to the city to get them noticed. But thankfully, he doesn’t stick around for long.

1Isiah Freedlander: GTA 5
Isn’t a therapist supposed to help their patients? Dr. Freedlander is Michael’s very uninterested therapist inGTA 5, or so he appears to be and does absolutely nothing to improve Michael’s issues. And to top it off, he sells a book about Michael and his problems.
The guy is a toad and fans were not impressed with his disloyalty towards Michael. Hopefully, Michael will have gotten himself a better therapist if he ever returns in a future installment.
