The expansion includes patches and fixes to make the game run a little more smoothly, but the biggest chunks of the DLC are content-related. Nintendo kept some of these a secret, but there were certain additions that players already knew about. Regardless, all of it is worth checking out for fans of theLegend of Zeldaseries.

Warning: spoilers ahead!

8Battle For Kakariko Village

A classic location in theLegend of Zeldaseries is Kakariko Village, andHyrule Warriorshas not left it out. One of the biggest story-based missions to come to the second wave of DLC is the Battle for Kakariko Village. Featuring Daruk, Yunobo, and a third member of the player’s choice, the heroes must defend the village from ruin.

Players can explore this location as there is no time limit to story-based missions, and can discover all the hidden nooks and crannies of the familiar area. The quest opens up other related missions afterward, which focus on the Goron champions. These missions include some perks unlockable with the right items.

7Battle Of Goponga Village

Another large new story mission included in theGuardian Of Remembranceis the Battle of Goponga Village. Working as a team with Mipha and Sidon, the chosen hero must aid Zora captains in pushing back the hordes of monsters.

Like the Kakariko mission, finishing the Goponga fight will add specific quests for the Zora characters to the map. There are two big missions for the Rito and Gerudo too, featuring both generations of champions — but those will remain a secret for now.

6Vicious Monster Battles

Just when players thought that Electric Lynels were the worst enemy, here comes a new and daunting variety of battle: “Vicious Monster: boss battles. There is one saving grace here: these battles don’t start on their own. Instead, they must be unlocked with the associated skill on the Royal Ancient Lab’s technology tree.

These battles are now more of a challenge. Be warned, though, the battles are randomized; players won’t know what awaits them until the battle starts. TheGuardian Of RemembranceDLC adds new types of monsters that come appear here, as well as new elements.

5More Enemies & Variations

One of the best things aboutAge Of Calamity(which players hopemakes it intoBreath Of The Wild 2) is the wide range of enemies that are available. Not only are there the same types that appeared inBreath of The Wild, but there are elemental variations as well as their silver and gold difficulties.

It doesn’t stop with flaming Guardians and Icy Moblins, however — now there are flying Moblins that carry huge bomb backpacks. They float around using Octoroks, making them incredibly hard to hit. Additionally, are now Octoroks that now have trees sprouting from them. A new type of mini-boss has been added as well: Chuchus in every elemental variety.

4The Colisseum & Lanayru Road

Along with two new story battles,Age Of Calamity’s second wave of expansion builds on some other iconic locations in Hyrule. The Lanayru Promenade and Gate, as well as the daunting Colisseum are two such locations brought to life with a new look.

The scenic areas appear before their demise during the Calamity, showing them in all their architectural glory. There are still Lynels knocking around, though, so players must use caution. As the associated missions are not limited by time, players can go for an exploratory stroll through these grand locations.

For those that have recently purchased theHyrule Warriorslatest entries' Expansion Pass, instead of at release, there is another bonus that comes with the content and battle updates. This set is free of charge and is a nice little surprise for those who did not expect it.

Upon downloading the DLC, players will be gifted a bonus armor set for Link: the “Prototype Ancient” gear, including a helmet, top, and bottoms. As well as this spiffy set, Link is given a new weapon. It may not be the strongest, but the glowing blue Ancient sword looks pretty cool.

2Purah & Robbie

The best thing by far from wave two of the Expansion Pass is the sassy scientists, Robbie and Purah. Players have hoped for control of these two Ancient Technology experts since the games' release. However, there is one drawback: they come as a pair.

The duo’s combat is led, rather oddly, by Robbie. Purah is almost relegated to a support role, which is odd considering she is the senior of the two researchers. Their attacks still pack a worthwhile punch, and they are nevertheless interesting to play as. Unfortunately, there are no specific missions for their characters to complete.

1A Mysterious Extra Fighter

There is another mystery fighter brought in alongside Purah and Robbie. It turns out it is the feisty Yiga Master, Sooga! The strong and skilled clan member is now available for use in battle — except where he appears as one of the enemies.

Both the scientist duo and Sooga are unlocked with the completion of the new levels added inNintendo’snew DLC. These are all post-game content — the new levels take place mostly as memories that can be explored at any time, and do not require players to restart the game to find where they slot in.
