Summary
Remedy Entertainment has releasedAlan Wake 2’s Update 1.15. This newAlan Wake 2update introduces the Chapter Select function, which allows gamers to pick specific missions to play, and it also makes several adjustments to the game.
Alan Wake 2was one of 2023’s most critically acclaimed games. Not only did Remedy’s latest release receive several glowing reviews, butAlan Wake 2won in three categories at The Game Awards 2023: Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, and Best Art Direction. Now, months after its release, Remedy Entertainment is still supporting the game with updates.

The most important change inAlan Wake 2’snew update 1.15 is the introduction of the Chapter Select feature. Now, players will be able to replay any mission they have previously unlocked. However, they will use a pre-made save game regardless of their own progression, which means that their items will be pre-determined. The rest of the patch follows the trend ofpreviousAlan Wake 2updates, mostly fixing several bugs that were still in the game, and tweaking UI and graphics to improve the overall experience.
Some of the fixes include solving problems with New Game Plus, adding missing descriptions for case files in Saga’s Mind Place, and preventing explosions from damaging enemies through doors. Apart from bug fixing, other highlights of the 1.15 update include improved general visual polish, and slightly optimized texture memory usage, as well as many other minor tweaks.

Overall,Alan Wake 2is in a pretty polished state right now, but fans should expect to continue seeing regular updates from Remedy Entertainment over the year. The most eagerly awaited updates for 2024, however, include the release of two new expansion-sized DLCs. The first expansion will beAlan Wake 2’s Night Springs DLC, which is currently planned for a release in late Spring 2024. While not much is officially confirmed about this new story, Night Springs is an in-game TV show that was originally featured inAlan Wake’sAmerican Nightmarespin-off, and the DLC is rumored to bring several familiar characters back.
The otherAlan Wake 2DLC will be The Lake House, which is scheduled to be released later in 2024. It seems like this DLC will expand Remedy’s shared universe, focusing on the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC). The FBC was previously featured in bothAlan Wake 2andControl, and it’s a secret government institution that investigates all kinds of paranormal threats.
