Within the desolate ruins that populate the world ofThe Last of Us 2, players can find plenty of resources to keep Ellie alive and increase the strength of her weapons and abilities. Though many resources can be found out in the open, the jackpots lie in the locked safes that litter the environment, and finding their combinations can prove a bit tricky when they aren’t always spelled out on an easily accessible note.
This guide will walk you throughall the safes you can find inThe Last of Us 2, including their exact locations and combinations, so you can maximize your looting skills and earnthe “Safecracker” trophy.

The first safe inThe Last of Us 2isn’t found until well into the opening Chapter when we rejoinEllie and Dinaout on patrol. While clearing out Infected from a Weston’s supermarket, the pair will jump through a hole in the roof and enter a spore-filled office. Squeezing through a broken wall, take a right andhead straight through the door ahead to find the Patrol safe. The combo is 07-20-13.
Seattle Day 1 – Downtown: Safe Codes and Locations

This section ofThe Last of Us Part 2begins asEllie and Dina ride through Downtown Seattlein search of gasoline to power a gate. In the largest single slice of the game, there are three safes to find.
Upon riding into Downtown Seattle in the semi-open world segment with the map, hang left along the war-torn streets until finding the Westlake Bank. Head inside the collapsed building and clear out the Infected beforeentering the Safe Deposit Locker room at the back of the atrium. The code for the bank vault inside is 60-23-06.
Downtown Safe 2 of 3
Deeper into Downtown,find a safe at Gate West 2, located at Madison and 5th. Luckily, we have already picked up the Checkpoint Gate Codes Artifact that tells us the combination to this safe is 04-51,a Deus Ex reference.
Downtown Safe 3 of 3
While exploring the Courthouse on 5th Avenue, clear out the Infected on the upper floor and head downstairs. Further down the hallway, break a window on the left and climb inside.Immediately underneath the desk you climbed over to enterthe office is the third and final safe in theDowntown area ofThe Last of Us 2. Helpfully, the combination 86-07-22 is scrawled on the whiteboard nearby.
Seattle Day 1 – Capitol Hill: Safe Code and Location

Further intoThe Last of Us Part 2, Ellie and Dina will be on the hunt for Leah –one of Joel’s killers– at a TV Station. On their way there, they encounter a number of perils, including, eventually, tripwires. A little later, you will have to navigate a maze of explosive traps by smashing through a window and cutting through a dojo. Entering the thrift store across the street, go into the backrooms and take the door on the left tofind a safe guarded by a crippled Clicker. The Capitol Hill safe combo is 55-01-33.
Seattle Day 1 – The Tunnels: Locker Room Code and Location

While the locker room in The Tunnels chapter ofThe Last of Us Part 2isn’t a safe and, therefore, doesn’t count towards the Safecracker trophy, opening it functions very similarly, as finding the combination requires a bit of hunting.
To find the locker room in The Tunnels, proceed down the long corridor afterencountering the Shamblersfor the very first time.Take the second door on the right and see the sealed locker room directly ahead. Since each number can only be pressed once on this locker room keypad, the correct code for the locker room in The Tunnels is 15243.
Seattle Day 2 – Hillcrest: Safe Code and Location

On day two ofEllie’s quest in Seattle, she will go on the hunt for Tommy in the neighborhood of Hillcrest. After some exploring, you will solve a short puzzle with a dumpster on some ramps and drop down into a new explorable area. Exiting the bike shop you landed in, cut through Velvet Tattoo parlor andapproach the AUTO Parts and Repairs shop in the back. Move the dumpster from the door and kill the Runners inside. The safe is inside by the door, and the combo is 30-82-65.
Seattle Day 2 – The Seraphites: Safe Codes and Locations
The Seraphites Safe 1 of 2
The first safe inThe Seraphites chapter ofThe Last of Us 2is found in an apartment building along Route 5. A short time after leaving the theater at the start of the chapter, you’ll cut through a FEDRA checkpoint and land back on the street. Walk down the road and, just past the skyway, take a left towards the apartment block with the “For Lease” sign.
Go right at the locked doors and crawl into the basement laundry room, then, up on the second floor,smash through the window in the vestibule and climb out onto the canopy. Hop over to the left and break another window to enter an apartment. In the back bedroom, the safe is found in the closet on the left, and a nearby Artifact tells us the code is 10-08-83.
The Seraphites Safe 2 of 2
The final safe of this chapter is found shortly after engaging intenseThe Last of Uscombatwith the Brute Seraphite in the makeup store. Afterward, head up to the roof, where Ellie will lay eyes on the hospital again and drop down into the water below. Swim to the left and enter the pharmacy,crawling through the nearby hole in the wall and approaching the safe dead ahead. The second Seraphites safe combo is 38-55-23.
Seattle Day 3 – Safe Code and Location

Late into Seattle Day 3, Ellie will steal a WLF boat and ride towardsthe Seattle Waterfront Aquarium, where Abby is sheltering. Driving through a collapsing building, you’ll encounter a shutter blocking your way forward. Before progressing, take the stairs on the left, enter the hallway, andmove the utility cart away from the rubble before crawling beneath it. Climb through the window on the other side and drop into the fenced area where the safe is. As per the Stash Note, the combination to The Flooded City safe is 70-12-64.
The remaining chapters ofThe Last of Us 2feature some game-changing revelations and events. Avoid reading further if you haven’t reached this point in the game yet.

Deep into the On Foot chapter of Abby’s Day 1, which begins as she and her friends are ambushed by Seraphites on the road, she and Mel will find themselves on the roof of a boat repair store. Pointing out the distant WLF FOB – where you might meet some familiarCritical Role cast members– climb down from the roof and pass through a nearby fence,looking right and crawling through a crevice to find the safe. As per the lottery ticket in the mobile office, the combination for Abby’s first safe on Seattle Day 1 is 17-38-07.
Seattle Day 1 (Abby) – Hostile Territory: Safe Code and Location

After the first flashback to the Aquarium, Abby and Manny will be making their way to the Ferris wheel as the sun sets on their present day. After some exploring, Abby will come up againstsome Runners and a Clickerin a bar. Killing them and climbing over a brick wall will land her on a Chinatown street.The Hostile Territory safe is in the Jasmine Bakery, the first store on the left, and the correct code is 68-96-89.
Seattle Day 1 (Abby) – The Coast: Safe Code and Location

After the sun has set on the first day, and you’ve escaped the clutches ofthe terrifying Seraphite cultists, you’ll find yourself climbing through the ruins of a ship. Fight your way through some more Infected to reach the sun deck and look towards the stairs you came up.Inside one of the bridges, next to a dormant Runner, is the safe. According to the Mutiny Note, the combination for The Coast safe is 90-77-01.
Seattle Day 2 (Abby) – The Shortcut: Safe Code and Location

On your way to grab medical supplies fromthe hospital inThe Last of Us 2, Lev will suggest using a Seraphite shortcut to reach the hospital faster. As you progress through this chapter, you’ll jump from a destroyed overpass onto an apartment balcony. Inside the complex,walk into the bedroom on the right to find the safe, entering the code 30-23-04.
Seattle Day 2 (Abby) – The Descent: Safe Code and Location

The final safe ofis found during The Descent chapter, after a particularlystressfulLast of Us 2segment, Lev and Abby take a tumble into a pool. Heading into the Hotel Blacray, just before the stairway door leading out of the gym,find the safe in a janitor’s closet through the door on the left. The Descent safe combination is 12-18-79.
