Build-A-Bear’sAnimal Crossing: New Horizonplushes are out now, but it only currently includes two predictable characters, disappointing fans of the franchise who were hoping to see at least a fewNew Horizonsvillagerson the list.
Isabelle and Tom Nook have become the faces of theAnimal Crossingfranchise, and when it comes toNew Horizonsitems such as the Nintendo Switch and matching HORI controllers, Nintendo certainly milks them as the mascots. But there are plenty of villagers loved by fans throughout the series, such as Marshal and Dom, who became hot commodities among fans trading villagers for millions of bells online. Of course, there are NPCs other than Isabelle who have struck a chord with players, such as Celeste andthe Able Sisters.

Despite the hopes that these characters would make it to the Build-A-Bear collaboration, it looks like Tom Nook and Isabelle are currently the only ones available for purchase. This is quite a disappointment, especially after the hype around the announcement of acollaboration between Build-A-Bear andAnimal Crossing: New Horizons. While fans will still clamor to get their hands on the exclusive items, it would have been great to see a few more faces in the lineup than just the two who fans were expecting to see.
Earlier this morning, a rumor dropped, releasing an alleged lineup of characters expected to be featured in the Build-A-Bear collaboration. It included Marshal, Raymond, Coco,Bob, Merengue, and Stitches, all widely popular villagers in theAnimal Crossingcommunity. The rumor came about when searching certainAnimal Crossingcharacter names, the search engine would redirect to a coming soon page, while other characters would lead to a 404 error page.
That isn’t to say that these characters will never be featured infuture Build-A-Bear collaborationswithAnimal Crossing:New Horizons. Nintendo and the plush company were both quiet about the lineup previously, so these villagers could always be added further down the line, though it’s unlikely.
Still, for those who wish to purchase theIsabelle and Tom Nookplushes, they’ll have to wait in a lengthy queue line that looks to be hours long. Each plush starts at $51, and there are two versions of each NPC, called a “Summer Gift Bundle” with either phrases or themed music. The Gift Bundle refers to the summer outfits on Isabelle and Tom, which can seemingly be traded out with other Build-A-Bear clothing items as per usual.
There’s no telling how long preorders will be open, but the exclusiveAnimal Crossing:New Horizonsitems will likely sell out quickly.
