Anthemmay not have taken off as a live-service game in the way that EA and BioWare hoped it would, but it’s still getting new content every now and again. This now includesMass Effect-themed armor, allowing players to dress up as various species from theMass Effectuniverse.

In celebration of N7 Day,Anthemplayers can get their hands on armor based on the Asari, Turians, Quarians, and Krogans fromMass Effect. The armor admittedly looks pretty cool, though it’s unlikely to tide over anyMass Effectfans who are anxious for a new entry in the critically-acclaimed series.

Whenever N7 Day rolls around,Mass Effectfans keep their fingers crossed that some big announcement will be made, but this year it seems they’ll have to settle on theAnthemMass Effectarmor. Those hoping for aMass Effecttrilogy remaster or news of a brand newMass Effectgame will have to keep their fingers crossed that such announcements will be made next year, or maybe during EA’s likely E3 2020 press conference next summer.

In the meantime, theAnthemMass Effectarmor is being released as part of the ongoing Season of Skulls event. TheAnthemSeason of Skulls event may be most well-known for the newMass Effectarmor, but it also adds some new lore for fans of the looter-shooter to discover. Whether or not it has effectively brought back lapsed players is unclear, but it doesn’t seem like the event is substantial enough to giveAnthemthe shot in the arm it needs.

Unfortunately for any fans of the game,Anthemappears to be fading into obscurity. Many of its lead developers have left the project and some of them have departed from BioWare entirely.Anthem’s troubled developmenthas been well-documented at this point, and it seems as though the game never really had a chance, all things considered. With interest in the game at an all-time low, it makes sense that BioWare has more or less moved on from it to focus its resources on future projects.

Thenext BioWare game will beDragon Age 4, which has been teased to be getting an announcement in December. BioWare will be counting onDragon Age 4to repair its reputation, but we’ll have to wait and see if its successful.

Anthemis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
