Apex Legends' first four years have been quite the adventure. While the inclusions of new maps, limited time modes, and legends are to be commended, pitfalls like the failed Arenas game mode and overpowered gameplay elements like Seer and the Charge Rifle should not be forgotten. Despite its shortcomings,Apex Legendshas proven to be quite the mainstay in the battle royale genre.

The game’s fourth anniversary event just so happens to coincide with its 16th season,Revelry. This newest season brings with it a ton of changes not included in the patch notes. Things like the return ofthe fan-favorite point of interest Mirage Voyage(now called “Mirage A Trois”), the addition of festive decorations throughout the maps, and the revelations brought upon by new ambient character dialogue are just a few surprises that await players as they hop into the game. Those who own a certain heirloom set will be pleasantly surprised by a wide variety of new animations.

From A Simple Kunai To Hope’s Dusk

Wraith’s heirloom setwas the very first of its kind to be included inApex Legends. The set could be found in the base game and includes a special kill quip, banner pose, and most important of all, the Kunai heirloom weapon. Other legend heirloom sets were introduced after Wraith’s, but hers was unique in that its simple animations transitioned fluidly into each other. The nature of these animations also fed into Wraith’s mindset that strong, quick, and fast attacks were the best to take down her foes.

With the advent ofRevelry, Wraith’s Kunai now has a new name: Hope’s Dusk. Apart from the weapon’s name alluding to one of Wraith’s old aliases,Hope’s Dusk has a ton of new animations. Some of the biggest standouts are Wraith opening a folder under her name to inspect a picture of her and Wattson, an animation with her throwing the kunai into a void portal and catching it as it reappears, and quite possibly the rarest animation available, one where a Wraith from another dimension helps the player Wraith grasp her kunai. Most of these animations build upon Wraith’s backstory which was revealed after the heirloom set was first introduced.
