It is probably an understatement to say thatApex Legendshas come a long way in the last couple of years. While the battle royale has managed to retain many of the elements that attracted players initially, it has also added many features that have arguably made the gameplay better. For example, the battle royale has made significant upgrades to the armor system through the inclusion ofEvo Shieldsand in-game Replicators. However, fans still think that improvements can be made to make the game even more enjoyable.
Recently, one gamer by the name of euSoccerGirl on Reddit proposed a new way to improve gear inApex Legends. Specifically, their concept dealt with upgrading backpacks through the use of Replicators scattered acrossKings Canyon, World’s Edge, Olympus, and Storm Point. According to the Reddit user’s idea, players would be able to upgrade their backpacks to higher levels by using crafting materials. This would supposedly make finding better gear earlier in the game easier (a common complaint among players).

This proposed idea from euSoccerGirl would be a significant change to the system that could make Replicators even more valuable inApex Legends. While armor can currently be permanently upgraded through crafting, backpacks have been incapable of being modified in the past. It would be interesting to see what the cost of such an upgrade would be if the developers were to implement this change. In the Reddit post, euSoccerGirl suggested 50 crafting materials. However, this could be too steep of a cost when upgrading from a level 1 to a level 2 backpack for some players. In addition, the purple bag that is sometimes in the Replicator would likely have to be changed.
Since euSoccerGirl proposed this new idea for upgrading backpacks on Reddit, numerousmembers of theApex Legendscommunityhave taken notice. Some gamers liked the idea as they thought it would make finding better gear easier. However, as with most ideas spawned by community members, some were less optimistic about the proposed change. “On the flip-side, I kind of hate when it’s in the crafter because now I have to use all my materials on a backpack, instead of on some fun attachments or bats,” not_a_conman said on Reddit.
Time will tell if the developers at Respawn Entertainment take notice of this idea proposed by euSoccerGirl. The company has a history of listening to fan feedback, so it is not outside the realm of possibilities that this type of change could come in the future. Nevertheless, it looks like eager fans will just have to wait and see what happens. Perhaps the next best chance for a substantial change to the system will come at the start ofSeason 13 ofApex Legends, presumably in May.
Apex Legendsis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. A mobile version is available in some regions.
