The next title in Ubisoft’s long-runningAssassin’s Creedfranchise seems to have had a version of its main menu leaked online.Assassin’s CreedRedwill see the series set foot in ancient Japan for the very first time, something fans have been wishing for Ubisoft to do for years.Redwill also kick offAssassin’s Creed Infinity,a sort of hub which will house several largeAssassin’s Creedgames for years to come. First announced at a 2022 Ubisoft Forward alongsideAssassin’s CreedHexeand theAssassin’s Creed Jademobile game,Redcaught the attention of fans with its ancient Japanese setting and its promise to provide players a “very powerful shinobi fantasy.” Even more exciting is the game’s main development studio, Ubisoft Quebec, which is known for creatingfan favoritesAssassin’s Creed 4: Black FlagandAssassin’s Cred Odyssey. Like many pastAssassin’s Creedtitles,Redis heavily rumored to give players control of dual protagonists, a female shinobi assassin, and a male samurai, many of whom believe to be the historical figure Yasuke.

It seems thatAssassin’s Creed Red’s main menu may have leaked online. Originally posted to r/GamingLeaksAndRumors, the photo ofRed’s alleged main menu has since been mysteriously removed. The menu prominently displays a black and red background which features two characters that seem to confirmAssassin’s Creed Red’s recent rumors: a female assassin and a male samurai. The menu clearly appears to be a work-in-progress, as text is randomly littered on the top and bottom of the screen.

Interestingly, players will seemingly have the ability to choose their character from the main menu. It’s unknown if players will also be able to do so on the fly while in the game, as having to back out to the main menu each time may likely cause annoyances for players. There’s also a “Select Season” option onRed’s main menu, indicating that the game is likely to have seasonal content that players will be able to swap between at will. Additionally, a “Play Demo” option is included as well, which hints that Ubisoft could possibly be planning to put out a demo sometime aroundAssassin’s Creed Red’s full release.

Ubisoft has just recently revealed thatStar Wars Outlawsis coming on August 30, and it also has a Ubisoft Forward locked in for June 10. It’s there thatAssassin’s Creedfans can expect to learn , potentially about its release date which, judging by theStar Wars Outlawsnews, may be later on in Fall 2024.
