While the upcoming Siege of Paris DLC is only a couple days away,Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s first major DLC still has a lot of ground for players to cover. Many may have beaten the main story of Wrath of the Druids and moved on, but it seems they may have missed a few Easter eggs. There were a few clear nods to games likeAC Origins, AC Odyssey, andAC Chronicles: Russiain WotD, but the best thus far discovered forAC Roguewas a nod toward The Morrigan (Shay’s ship).

Notably though, the Morrigan Trials were more Ireland than they wereAC Rogueand were a relatively loose connection overall. But given that it was the first time anAssassin’s Creedgame had gone to Ireland proper, a substantial Shay Patrick Cormac Easter egg seemed unavoidable. While it didn’t seem to exist at first, a solidAssassin’s Creed ValhallaWotD Easter Egg for Shay has now been discovered.

The fine folks at AccessTheAnimus have a thing for finding and cracking languages in the franchise. Indeed, it was AccessTheAnimus that first decodedAssassin’s Creed’s Isu language, and now those skills have been applied in Wrath of the Druids. AccessTheAnimus has decoded an in-game letter which was completely written in Old Irish, with it detailing the King of Dublin Barid’s origins and his family’s backstory. The entire exploration of this story is interesting, which can be seen below, but there’s one big name that stands out in the letter: a woman whose name changed to “Sjae Korpmaka.”

“Sjae Korpmaka” is highlighted within the text, meaning it was intended to be spotted, and reads aloud as “Sjay Cor-p-macka.” The P is rather softly spoken in AccessTheAnimus’s translation, and even if pronounced harder, the similarities between this name and Shay Cormac are clear. As it stands, it makes sense if this is the name “Shay Cormac” but from a region and language that occurred roughly900 years beforeAssassin’s Creed Rogue. AccessTheAnimus is quick to point out that, as intentional as this Easter egg is, it doesn’t mean that Shay Cormac is related to the woman.

While it may be a play on names, it’s still a direct and intentional Easter egg, and that may be exactly what many fans wanted to see. Now, notably, The Siege of Paris is right around the corner, and likeAC Rogue/Shay Cormac with Wrath of the Druids, it has the potential to have anEaster egg forAC Unity/Arno Dorian. It remains to be seen, of course, but the discovery of this Easter egg bodes well for the next DLC to have something similar.
