Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s first major DLC,Wrath of the Druidswas delayed until May 13. Ahead of its imminent release, developer Ubisoft has begun teasing some more of whatAssassin’s Creed Valhallaplayers can expect to come across when the DLC launches.
A decent amount is already known about the DLC, including that players can expect toface off against Werewolves inWrath of the Druids. However, there is still a lot of the DLC that is shrouded in mystery, especially surrounding its story and characters. The newest bit of information released byAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, however, concerns exactly that.

The information comes from the officialAssassin’s CreedTwitter account and gives a look at both the High King Flann Sinna as well as players' first look at a faction known as the Children of Danu. The Children of Danu, also known as The Cursed, are cultists who wear skulls with antlers on their heads, which some have noticed looks quite similar to a Leshen fromThe Witcherseries. Even the officialThe WitcherTwitter account noticed the similarity and responded to the tweet with a cheeky acknowledgment. The Cursed is not one ofAssassin’s Creed’s numerous mythological creaturesthat players can face, but its appearance is still strikingly similar to the Leshen.
While The Cursed are humans, unlike the Leshen – which is a vengeful creature that defends the forests ofThe Witcheruniverse –The WitcherTwitter account has some advice forAssassin’s Creedplayers straight out ofThe Witcher 3. The account advises using dimeritium bombs, relict oil, and the Igni sign, all of which Leshens are weak against inThe Witcher 3: Wild Huntwhile avoiding the sign Axii, which Leshens are strong against. While the interaction is just two social media accounts kidding around, it is fun to seeAssassin’s CreedandThe Witcher, two ofthe biggest RPGsin the industry, interacting with one another.
While the DLC was delayed slightly, hopefully,Wrath of the Druidscan deliver on the aspects that players lovedaboutAssassin’s Creed Valhalla. Of course, only time will tell how well received the DLC is, but it is fun to seeThe Witcherjumping in and joking around with the series. It’s always great to see game companies interacting playfully with one another, and hopefully, there are more similar interactions in the future. Players will have to wait untilWrath of the Druidsto release, however, to see just how much The Cursed compares to the Leshen.
Assassin’s Creed Valhallais available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. TheWrath of the DruidsDLC releases on May 13.
