Battlefield 2042is just a couple of weeks away, and the excitement behind the new first-person shooter is continuing to rise. EA and DICE just came off of avery successfulBattlefield 2042beta, one that drew big numbers as a whole. Fans had a lot of thoughts around the beta, but the beta only gave players only a small piece of the full game picture. And now EA and DICE have just released a trailer showcasing one of its newest maps: Discarded.
Leading up to the full release, information about the newest entry into the massive first-person shooter has continued to come forth. One of the recent examples is the fact that a newping system is headed toBattlefield 2042.But one of the core components ofBattlefieldis the maps themselves.And with that in mind, players can soon look forward to a ship-based map with diverse gameplay options on the west coast shores of India.

Discarded will be ready forBattlefield 2042at launch as one of its thirteen day one maps. The biggest feature of the map is a massive ship. Players can use ziplines to take advantage of the verticality of the map thanks to this big boat. The map that is located in Alang, India allows for a mix of air and vehicle combat, but infantry players will also take a huge role while fighting through the flooded lands.
The gameplay trailer that EA and DICE chose to showcase Discarded highlights its diversity. Combat looks incredibly intense on the ground, as players will fight along the shoreline among behemoth hulls. Meanwhile, air vehicles will allow for dominating play, and the ship is ever looming over the battleground. Discarded looks to be a pretty map as well thanks to a gorgeous sky, the reflections across the water, and the colors throughout. The hope is that thevisual glitches that plagued the beta ofBattlefield 2042will be gone by the time players are able to enjoy maps like Discarded to their full potential.
Along with displaying Discarded, recently a bevy ofmaps were shown off forBattlefield 2042and its Portal platform. TheBattlefield:Bad Company 2maps were perhaps the most exciting for fans, as many have been clamoring for the sub-series to return. Any hint of theBad Companygames is something that will get the attention of manyBattlefieldfans, and allowing players to enjoy classic maps is certainly something worth jumping back into battle about.
Battlefield 2042releases for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on November 19.
