The ever-changing meta inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3andWarzonesees the rise and fall of many weapons. In Season 4, the Chimera AR fromMW2has become a relatively popular pick in both normal multiplayer and battle royale modes, contending with the BP50 and BAL-27 from the previous seasons.
There’s a lot to like and hate about the Chimera, but it’s hard to argue about the sheer lethality that this weapon provides. If you’re looking to make the most out of this short-barreled rifle, here are a couple of loadouts you should try out when you next load into a match inthe fourth season ofMW3.

Player preference
Pick the EXF OP-40 Handstop if you want to max out your movement speed. Otherwise, go for Overpressure +P ammo for extra flinch, or just go with a sight for better target acquisition.

The Chimera isn’t as popular as some of theother assault rifles inMW3,but it’s definitely an option for players who want a fast-paced run-and-gun weapon. This setup capitalizes on the Chimera’s high mobility and handling, foregoing range and recoil in favor of faster movement.
For equipment, use Commando gloves to support the Chimera’s fast playstyle, Stalker boots to further increase your movement speed while aiming, the Assassin Vest to keep you hidden from UAVs, and any piece of gear that you fancy. Grenades and secondary weapon are also up to your discretion.

Increases Tac Sprint duration and reduces refresh time.
Spotter
Spot enemy equipment and Killstreaks through walls. Mark enemy equipment while ADS. Hack planted explosives.
Increased strafe and ADS movement speed.
Resolute
Taking damage increases your movement speed by 5%.
In Warzone, the Chimera is best paired with a long-ranged secondary weapon.
The Chimera’s main strengths are its fast TTK and high mobility, making it similar to weaponslikeMW3’sStrikeror RAM-7. Compared to many other assault rifles, you’ll be able to move more quickly with this gun equipped, resulting in you becoming harder target for enemies. This build doesn’t differ much from the one above. However, due to the higher TTKs inWarzone, it’s best to use the45-Round Magattachment so you have more ammo for extended fights.
Since you’ll be doing a lot of running and outmaneuvering with the Chimera, you’re best off taking perks that improve your chances of scoring a successful flank. Double Time will let you close gaps more quickly while Stalker and Resolute provide a nice movement speed boost while mid-gunfight. Meanwhile, Spotter will protect you from hidden explosives and other dangerous Killstreaks as you flank your enemies.
