Summary
There are a variety of video games that use law enforcement as their theme. TheRainbow Six Siegeseries, theSWATseries,Door Kickers,Ready Or Not, and the plethora of detective games out on the market are all reliant on enforcing the law in one way or another.
However, in spite of this, very few games put players in the specific role of an agent working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Some games, however, give players the opportunity to step into this role, though many of them feature supernatural elements that make them less grounded in reality than some players might hope. Even so, for those still willing toplay as an FBI Agent in a video game, there are several great options available.

This wonderfully old-school point-and-click adventure game features lovingly-crafted pixel art and a mysterious, supernatural story centered around five playable characters, two of which are FBI Agents. There are a variety of puzzles to solve and people to meet, and the game is well-written enough to remain engaging throughout its entirety. However, players who dislike traditionalpoint-and-click adventureswon’t find anything to change their minds inThimbleweed Park, despite its modern touches.
Thimbleweed Parkis a relatively strange game, packed with supernatural elements and thick with humor. The game’s story is full of ups and downs, twists, and turns, but whether or not it sticks the landing will be different for every player. For those who enjoy old LucasArts adventure games,Thimbleweed Parkis a must-play. Furthermore, the development ofThimbleweed Parkwas headed up by Ron Gilbert, who had previously worked on such games asThe Secret Of Monkey Island.

Deadly Premonitionis a relatively divisive survival-horror game with a strange, often dark story and a variety of oddball characters. The game casts players in the role of an FBI agent named Francis York Morgan (or York, for short),attempting to solve a murderin a small suburban town.
If that sounds familiar, it’s probably becauseDeadly Premonitiontakes clear inspiration from David Lynch’sTwin Peaks, much likeSilent Hill. As a result, fans of strange supernatural stories likeTwin Peakswill likely appreciate thisone-of-a-kind cult classic. For those who enjoyDeadly Premonition’s unique flavor, a sequel is currently available on Steam. However,Deadly Premonitioncertainly won’t be for everyone, with outdated graphics and gameplay alike that rarely offer much in the way of style. Instead, the game lives and dies with its quirky characters.

Heavy Rainis an intensely dark,narrative-driven gamethat runs on the player’s choices, providing ample consequences in return.Heavy Rainwon’t be for everyone; it features kidnapping, addiction, and other dark themes that may be too much for some players. The game’s morose tone can be oppressive, but the writing, performances, and variety of endings makeHeavy Rainone of the most engaging narrative-driven games available.
InHeavy Rain, players take on the role of various characters over the course of several chapters. The plot follows these characters as they attempt to uncover the Origami Killer, a brutal serial killer. One of these characters is Norman Jayden, an FBI agent investigating the case of the Origami Killer while battling against a vicious drug addiction. Players who enjoy more action-oriented games won’t find much to love here, but fans of interactive stories such asUntil Dawnand Telltale’sThe Walking Deadwill be right at home.Heavy Rainalso features a variety of endings that dramatically improve its replay value.

This grimy, first-person survival-horror title is a hyper-violent, gritty experience from beginning to end.Condemned: Criminal Originsis best known for itsbrutal melee combatthat has players blocking enemy attacks before beating them over the head with all manner of blunt objects. These objects can be torn from walls and scavenged from the ground, often leading to scrappy fights in dark, claustrophobic environments.
Condemned: Criminal Originsfollows the story of Ethan Thomas, an FBI agent who’s framed for the murder of his colleagues at the start of the game. Following these events, Thomas goes on the run, attempting to clear his name as the game progresses.Condemnedalso includes some supernatural elements, so fans looking for a standard FBI story may be disappointed.

InAlan Wake 2, players take control of two separate characters, the titular Alan Wake, and the FBI agent, Saga Anderson. This new character provides a fresh perspective and allowsAlan Wake 2to take its narrative in a variety of thrilling and strange directions.Alan Wake 2is Remedy Entertainment’s first fully-fledged survival-horror game, but its horror elements are closer to a supernatural thriller, making it a great choicefor newcomers to the genre.
For fans of FBI agents and supernatural fiction alike,Alan Wake 2is a riveting experience that’s worth a shot even for those who aren’t experienced with survival-horror. However, the less said aboutAlan Wake 2’s story, the better, as it’s a tremendously story-driven and cinematic experience.
