Most Shrines can be spotted in the open, but some require the completion of a Shrine Quest before they can be accessed.
The Ketoh Wawai Shrine is part of the Shrouded Shrine quest inBreath of the Wild. It’s one that players may not discover unless they’re exploring northern Hyrule. While the Shrine itself doesn’t have any puzzles, it’s very easy to get lost in the pitch-black Typhlo Ruins.

Where to Find Ketoh Wawai Shrine
The Ketoh Wawai Shrine is in theTyphlo Ruinsnorth of theGreat Hyrule Forest/Korok Forest. The best way to reach it is to leave from theSerenne Stableor theSnowfield Stable. Players will immediately notice that the Typhlo Ruins are covered by a black fog. There’s no way to get rid of the darkness, and once they step into the ruins,Ketoh Wawai will start the trial.
If players wish to leave, then they can either warp to another Shrine, or they can step back into the light. Doing so will cancel the Shrine Quest, and it can be picked up next time Link visits. It’s also recommended to enter the Typhlo Ruinsfrom the leftside where the bridge is located. Players will know they’re at the right spot if they see a lit torch at the end of the bridge.
Typhlo Ruins are surrounded by a bog. Players will sink if they stand in it for too long, so if necessary, use Cryonisis to build platforms.
Shrouded Shrine Quest Walkthrough
While it’s better to start from the left of Typhlo Ruins, the Shrine Quest can be completedno matter where Link enters. Players will want to have room for aTorchweapon to make things easier. Light the torch at the bridge and look for the bird statues. Light them, and take note of which direction they’re facing. Some will point towards chests, but most will direct Link down the path he needs to follow.
If players do not have a torch/don’t want to make room for it, then they can use the glow from theStasisorMagnesisrune to light the way.
Lighting some of the bird statues will cause Keese to flock towards Link. Luckily, their eyes make them easy to see. Toss a bomb their way or strike with a regular weaponto get rid of them.

Eventually, players will spot thesphere platformand a sleepingHinox. Unfortunately, the Hinox is wearing theShrine Spherearound its neck, so there’s no easy way to get this. Players will need to wake up and defeat the Hinox. It wears wooden bracers around its legs, which can belit up with Fire Arrowsor aFire Weapon.
Don’t let it get too close andaim for its glowing eyewith an arrow to stun it. Eventaully, the Hinox will cover its face, so wait for it to drop its guard before loosing another arrow. Alternatively, charging up a spin attack to unleashUrbosa’s Furytwo times will be enough to carve out a good chunk of its HP. Urbosa’s Fury is obtainable through thecompletion of Divine Beast Vah Naborismain quest.
Once the Hinox goes down, loot everything it drops andpick up the Sphere.Place it in the glowing platformto reveal the Ketoh Wawai Shrine. There’s also no more need for the torch, so feel free to drop it.

Ketoh Wawai Shrine Blessing
Fortunately, there isn’t a trial within the Shrine. Enter the Shrine and open the chest to get anAncient Core. Speak to the Sage to get the Spirit Orb, and then warp somewhere else. Playes won’t need to return here, but if they want, they can explore the Typhlo Ruins for treasure. In fact,there’s a Star Fragment locked awayin one of the ruins' chests.
