With every new iteration ofCall of Duty, tactics certainly become more difficult for returning and new players. With every newCall of Dutyincluding newtactical weaponry, players must find ways to adapt and join the fray ofModern Warfare 2players in the new age of warfare.

There are 10 tactical weapons inModern Warfare 2from the initial release of the game. These tacticals each have their positives and negatives, butonly some can be the best. AllModern Warfare 2players should know the best tacticals to turn the tides of war.
10Smoke Grenade
When players are pinned down by a rogue sniper, or automated targeting systems, then the safest bet is to throw a smoke grenade and hope for the best. This piece of tactical equipment unleashes a cloud of smoke in players that can traverse unseen. It’s quite stealthy, and at level 10, it’s not a bad piece of equipment.
The smoke grenade has its uses, for both confusing and obscuring the vision of opponents that will just see thick grey smoke, and for being a camouflage to automated targeting systems. However, a fight will rarely require it.
9Spotter Scope
At level 16, players will be able to obtain the spotter scope. This tactical weapon allows players to spot and mark their enemies from a distance and enables them to keep track of their targets for their team. However, if a player has seen an enemy, either it is too late for one of them or both.
Death is inevitable inModern Warfare 2, and with quick-pacedgame modesand plenty of shooting, a spotter scope will not save either player. However, forlarger mapsand tactical reasons, the spotter scope is great for a sniper and a buddy to team up.
8Decoy Grenade
Movement and gunfire are great ways of getting spotted inCall of Duty. By staying loud, the player committing such an act will be placed on the radar for all to see, thus leading to enemies zoning in on the player’s position. Thanks to the decoy grenade, the player can entertain a lie and be rewarded.
From level 19, players will have the decoy grenade, which is apiece of weaponrythat will simulate gunfire to confuse the enemy. The range of motion and noise will appear on the radar, thus making enemies charge toward the direction as a great trap.
7Snapshot Grenade
Sometimes, other players don’t enjoy running around and hunting for kills for those rapid killstreaks. InModern Warfare 2, some players may elect to hide in buildings, or group up to ensure maximum devastation to the other team. With the snapshot grenade unlocked at level 46, players will always know where their enemies are.

The snapshot grenade willprovide playerswith a brief glimpse of the enemies that were caught in the blast radius of the snapshot. It highlights them for both the player and their squad and ensures that those that hide are not safe.
6Heartbeat Sensor
Taking a change from otherCall of Dutytitles, the heartbeat sensor takes a few changes that benefit its mechanics. WithModern Warfare 2, the heartbeat sensor has a battery life, meaning that it cannot be spammed or held out for too long, otherwise, it will end up useless and as dead weight.
Just because the heartbeat sensor has a battery, does not mean that the tactical unlocked at level 40 is useless overall. It’s a small tablet that displays on a screen the location of nearby enemies. However, it can be countered withspecific perks.
5Stun Grenade
There’s nothing more frightening than being the victim of a stun grenade inModern Warfare 2. The effects of this quick activating non-lethal grenade are that it will slow down the movement and aim of whoever was in the blast radius.
This means that whoever is hit by the stun grenade is unable to shoot the person that threw the stun grenade at them, as they will be fighting to aim their gun upwards. The slowdown is great for taking out enemies and is unlocked at level 15.
4Tear Gas
As far as crowd control goes inModern Warfare 2, the tear gas non-lethal tactical grenade is a great way to do so. At level 33, players will be able to access tear gas. The ability of this tactical piece of equipment is that a cloud of tear gas will release from the thrown grenade, and greatly reduce movement speed, whilst blurring vision and making those within the cloud cough.

The tear gas grenade is a great way to trap enemies in a cluster of smoke before violently dealing with them.Call of Dutyis not kind to opponents, and there will be plenty of opportunities inModern Warfare 2to prove that.
3Shock Stick
Players won’t need to wait for the shock stick to unlock, as it is automatically unlocked as one of the first tacticals in the game. The shock stick is an electric device that can stick to any surface that it is thrown at. As well as electrocuting enemies, it can cause vehicle malfunctions and can destroy equipment.
The shock stick is slightly like an EMP grenade and has a lot of great uses on the battlefield.Modern Warfare 2players can use it to their advantage by stealthily taking out enemy equipment, or just using them as traps to shock and stun enemies that wander past.
2Flash Grenade
Another of the automatically unlocked tacticals is the flash grenade. This vastly superior non-lethal grenade will both blind and deafen whoever is hit by it, rendering their screen a pale haze of white, with the audio a loud ringing of confusion. The flash grenade is great for getting those hitmakers and running in to sweep up the mess it made.
With the flash grenade, players can effectively blind other players to ensure they cannot see their next move. It can be used to get behind them for finishers or to simply be smart and tactical and wipe them out with no error.
1Stim
Arguably the best tactical inModern Warfare 2is unlocked at level 29. The stim is one ofCall of Duty’s ways of keeping the game fast-paced, as the stim is an injection that the player can take which will heal them back to full health in just 2 seconds.
The stim is a great way to ensure the fighting never stops, as it can be used to quickstart health regeneration at a rapid speed. Not only can players heal faster with a stim, but they can use their guns whilst doing so, ensuring victory against combatants who don’t use the stim first.
