Summary
The operator skin included in a new cosmetic Tracer Pack hasCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2players scratching their heads, as the skin omits a glaring character feature.Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2is almost through with its fifth season, which re-introduced Phillip Graves from the campaign as a multiplayer operator alongside Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, and 21 Savage.
Since 2019’sModern Warfare,a fresh lineup of multiplayer operators introduced to the franchise with each entry has become commonplace forCall of Duty. Perhaps the biggest reason for creating these characters is to monetize them with Tracer Pack bundles which include skins for operators, weapon blueprints and a bevy of other cosmetic goodies. It’s also quite common for important characters from each game’s campaign to become playable in later seasons of multiplayer in the form of operator bundles.Alex Keller from 2019’sCall of Duty: Modern Warfarehad joined theModern Warfare 2roster alongside Valeria Garza and Alejandro Vargas as part of Season 3 earlier this year.

It appears that one of Alex Keller’s newest operator bundles has forgotten about one of his more important visual characteristics. On the CODWarzone subreddit Bleachy_Lifestyle pointed to Alex’s new Ruff Day Tracer Pack, which includes one of the game’s new Tactical Pet dogs, and how it mysteriously omits Alex’s forearm tattoos. The key art for the bundle itself in theModern Warfare 2storeincludes Alex’s ink, but when previewing the skin itself, the tattoos are no longer visible.
This mishap is most likely just a simple oversight from the developers. The team seems to be churning out so many cosmetic items and bundles that missing tattoos on an operator is certainly a possibility. This could also be a scenario where the Tracer Pack is calling back to Alex Keller prior to the events of 2019’sCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, where he first made his franchise debut; perhaps there was a time in his military career before 2019’s entry where he didn’t have the tattoos. In support of this theory, this specific skin doesn’t show his prosthetic leg that he got afterModern Warfare’s campaign, but it’s possible its well-hidden under his military pants. While this could be a pre-Modern WarfareAlex, others online have pointed out that Alex’s tattoos have been appearing with the skin, so this issue may not be happening for everyone.
Hopefully, Alex’s Ruff Day Tracer Pack skin will be patched up soon so that his tattoos are visible to all. WithCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3right around the corner, there are sure to be many more new operator bundles coming alongside everything carrying over fromModern Warfare 2.While he was absent fromModern Warfare 2’s story, perhaps Alex Keller will once again become involved withModern Warfare 3’s campaign.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
