If one thing is true about multiplayer games, it’s that players will sometime encounter toxic opponents, or in some cases, toxic teammates. While that usually means harassment, it can also mean people using overpowered and unfair loadouts to grind down the competition. One player used similar tactics to create a frustratingly hilarious gameplay montage inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Over on Reddit, user Gorrick1 shared a video dubbed “Modern Warfare: The art of toxicity.” In it, the player is seen using some ofModern Warfare’smost frustrating loadoutsto rack up kills. And while that would normally be aggravating more than anything else, Gorrick1 masterfully created a montage for the kills, all perfectly timed to classical music.

The video mostly takes place onModern Warfare’sShipment map, which is well-known for how chaotic it is, though a few others make an appearance. It’s clear that the video must’ve taken quite some time to capture and assemble, and likely resulted in a fair bit of rage from the player’s on the other teams from each map.
Infinity Ward has taken steps to address overpowered and unbalanced weapons inModern Warfare, recentlynerfing several weapons with the Season 4: Reloadedupdate. Still, some slip through the cracks or simply haven’t been addressed yet, leading to montages like this one being made. That being said, at least something good has come of it.
While toxicity is one thing,Modern Warfarehas had a hackerproblem as of late, which is drawing quite a bit of negative attention to the game. While Infinity Ward has steadily implemented balance patches and bug fixes, hackers have been a persistent issue since launch, leading to consistent problems in matches for those playing the game honestly. Infinity Ward has taken steps to prevent the issue, but it’s mostly been ineffective.
That being said,Modern Warfare’sonline community regularly shares interesting clips of moments in online matches, which has helped form a better online community than what some of the franchise’s previous entries have mustered. That doesn’t mean toxicity doesn’t exist in the community, but it may be a sign that things are slowly beginning to improve.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfareis available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
