Summary
Following the rise of a new Try Snakeshot meta inCall of Duty: Warzone, Raven Software issues an emergency hotfix to remove the loadout entirely. As a live service title,Call of Duty: Warzoneis constantly changingthrough updates and new content infusion. With a constantly changing environment, it’s near impossible for Raven Software to accurately catch and remove bugs and other issues that crop up, which has led to a variety of issues from time to time over the past few years.
Over the years, players have seen strange bugs that range from stationary vehicles killing players at random or certain areas of the map thatallowWarzoneplayers to hide inside walls. Hacking and cheaters were, at one point, a constant issue players had to deal with, and while the problem is completely resolved, Activision’s implementation of the Riccochet Anti-Cheat System has significantly improved things for the better. Still, there’s always a chance that new bugs unintentionally slip through, like a recent issue with the AKimbo Tyr weapons which completely broke Call of Duty: Warzone’s meta.

Discovered earlier this week, some players began equipping a specific loadout that featured Akimbo Tyrs, a revolver style weapon that had access to Snakeshot rounds which gave it more power and area coverage at a cost to overall range. However, following arecent update for all modes withinCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, players discovered that this combination was essentially broken as it could easily one-shot opposing players without any effort or giving them a chance to fight back.
While not everyone agreed with the decision, Raven quickly responded to the situation by disabling Snakeshot ammo on the Tyr revolver entirely. The studio revealed that the combination was overwhelmingly strong and didn’t align with its intended vision, so to ensure that allCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers could enjoy themselves over the holiday season, the decision was made to disable it entirely. In the meantime, Raven Software is actively exploring ways to balance it, though nothing specific was mentioned at this time.
In addition to the Snakeshot Tyrs, Raven is also looking into theBreacher Drone asCall of Dutyplayers have shown it doing more damagethan intended. The lethal equipment has quickly become a fan favorite and is easy to use as it flies forwards to a target either from player aim or just in a straight line. Unfortunately, Raven has not provided any details on what sort of adjustments are being made or when the update will arrive.
