Call of Duty: Warzone’s latest update is a big one. Upon downloading the latestWarzoneupdate, players will finally be able to open the bunker doors that are dotted around Verdansk. However, some of the more intriguingWarzonemysteries have yet to be uncovered and are instead found in the update’s files as opposed to actually on theWarzonebattle royale map itself, and they may be teasing a crossover withBlack Ops.

Dataminer AlfaTheseus has found a model for the RC-XD car fromBlack Ops, as well as a U-2 plane that resemblesBlack Ops' Spy Plane. This combined with anuclear warhead found in Bunker 11has led some to believe thatWarzoneis addingBlack Ops-related content as part of an upcoming crossover with that sub-series. While unconfirmed, this would actually make a great deal of sense for a few reasons.

One, this lines up with previous leaks about how Activision will revealCall of Duty 2020,presumably titledCall of Duty: Vietnam. According to longtimeCall of Dutyseries leaker TheGamingRevolution,Call of Duty 2020will first be teased inWarzoneitself. And if the rumors aboutCall of Duty 2020’s Cold War setting and it being a part of theBlack Opsseries are true, then it’s no big surprise that dataminers have found these things in the update files.

Secondly, Infinity Ward has said thatCall of Duty: Warzonewill featureFortnite-style events. Having a crossover withBlack Opswould certainly generate quite a bit of buzz, and make sure thatCall of Dutyfans tune in for the event, especially if it’s all a set up to unveilCall of Duty 2020to the world.

If that’s true, it would be important forWarzoneto encompass all of theCall of Dutyfranchise. Assuming the rumors are true aboutCall of Duty 2020and it will be a Cold War-set game, then adding this content would be a good way to connectWarzoneand the new title.

Call of Duty: Warzonefans will want to keep an eye out as they explore the battle royale map in case they find any new hints about the possibleBlack Opscrossover. And in the meantime, they should stay tuned for an officialCall of Duty 2020reveal at some point in the coming weeks.
