There are several important gameplay mechanics inCall of Duty: Warzone, though one of the most integral to the formula is the Gulag. However, it seems likeCall of Duty: Warzonefans are displeased with the second chance feature’s current format.

Call of Duty: Warzone’s Season 4 Gulagrecreates the central area of Hijacked from theBlack Opsseries. When this new Gulag first released, players seemed to be pleased with its overall design. Considering that Standoff saw players hiding around the corner as opposed to coming out and fighting, the Hijacked setup is a bit more varied. However, it is not without its issues, as gamers have discovered some problems with the arena after spending more time inside it.

OneCall of Duty: Warzoneplayerto point out a major concern with the Gulag is OG_Jermasaurus. The Redditor’s posts pleads with Raven to place the catwalk up higher, as its closeness to the floor is distracting for those in the 1v1 battle. Sound is incredibly important inCall of Duty, with players often listening for the footsteps of their enemies. However, the Gulag is suffering from too much sound, with players much more likely to hear spectators running on the metal catwalk over anything else. This unnecessary noise takes away a tactical advantage, making things less fair for Gulag fighters.

In the comments, Reddit user Spartan1102 argues that thisversion of the Gulagis the “worst one yet.” Citing the map as far too large, his argument is echoed by several other commenters. Currently, the size of Hijacked is proving to be a major problem. While players can have lengthier fights due to the size of the arena, they are proving to be too long. Nearly every battle is reaching the time limit, with fights ending in flag captures as opposed to kills. The Redditor also cites a spawn camping problem, something they would like to see fixed in future Gulags.

One final comment comes from JoPOWz, and it sees the player pointing out an issue withspectating in the Gulag. Currently, the system has a chance of splitting teammates up between the different arenas. This means that some teams get the advantage of having a teammate to guide them, while others do not. JoPOWz believes this is unfair, suggesting that no teams get this advantage. Instead, all squads would be split up via a waiting room. Another interesting suggestion deals with money, with JoPOWz pushing for a feature that lets viewers gamble on fights.

WithCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Hijackedalso criticized, it seems like the latest iterations of the map are a bit less popular than the original. Still, if Raven Software takes this feedback into consideration, perhaps the Gulag variant could be changed to become more popular.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
