In a posted video, Kalypso1995 shared a trick that they said was effective, even if it looked “stupid.” The trick involved employing the Helldivers' Hellpod drop system to do the hard work of killing Bile Titan.Bile Titans are the largest Terminid enemies inHelldivers 2, and pose a dangerous challenge to even a fully equipped Helldiver squad.
In the video, Kalypso1995 runs from a Bile Titan while preparing one of the manyHelldivers 2Stratagem beacons. They throw the Stratagem beacon high into the air, giving the object a near-vertical trajectory as they run underneath it. Then, the beacon falls onto Kalypso1995’s equipped Shield Generator backpack, sticking to the shield “bubble” and hovering near their shoulder. With seconds left on the deployment clock, Kalypso1995 runs under the Bile Titan’s legs, Shield backpack with its attached beacon, and runs clear. The incoming Hellpod pierces straight through the Bile Titan, killing it instantly.
Members of the community praised Kalypso1995’s trick, with some calling it a sign of “High IQ” and “Giga-brain.” While the use of Hellpods as weapons isan unspoken rule ofHelldivers 2combat, Kalypso1995’s twist involved “catching” the beacon and placing it under the Titan. Others did point out that such a trick does require a good bit of luck, as the player runs straight into the thick of an enemy pack to put down their payload. Similarly, being too late dropping the pack and getting away will result in the player being killed by the drop pod itself. Thus, they remarked, a safer, more reliable version of Kalypso1995’s tactic would involve simply trying to stick or throw the Stratagem beacon close to the Bile Titan. Such a move would thus not require running to “catch” the beacon, leaving players free to deal with the escorts without risking themselves as much.
