From its incredible gameplay trailers to the lofty promises CD Projekt Red has made regarding its next title,Cyberpunk 2077looks to make some major waves when it hits shelves later this year. Fans are already raring to get stuck into the game’s sprawling sci-fi world, with many growing even more excited after yesterday’sESRB ratingrevealed that the game would be just as mature and adult-focused as CD Projekt Red promised. However, it seems not every aspect of the certification was as well received.

One area of concern that emerged from the game’s official age rating was the claim that it featured in-game purchases, with players growing worried that the title could be adding microtransactions in an effort to make a little extra cash on the side. It seems video game outlet Twinfinite decided to approach CD Projekt Red with this exact issue, with the popular developer thankfully reassuring fans that there’d be no microtransactions in sight when players booted up their copy ofCyberpunk 2077.

According to the outlet, a representative for the developer revealed that the “in-game purchases” aspect of the ESRB rating refers to downloadable content coming to the game, which CD Projekt Red has already confirmed will be a big part ofCyberpunk’spost-launch plans. According to the representative, there won’t be anymicrotransactionsin the game, so players worrying that they’ll have to dish out real-world money to get access to a new vehicle or high-powered weapon can rest easy.

Regardless, it’s interesting to see just how far before launch CD Projekt Red is planning its slate of post-release content, with the company revealing last month that the game would have at leastan equivalent amount of DLC asThe Witcher 3.With that game releasing a fairly substantial first DLC titleHearts of Stone -which gave fans roughly an additional 10 hours of story - alongside an ever bigger second expansion titledBlood and Winewhich offered around 20 hours of gameplay, it seems the studio is going bigger than ever when it comes to additional content.

Regardless, it seemsCyberpunkis shaping up to be something extraordinarily special. Fans won’t have to wait too long to find out more about it either, withCD Projekt Red recently teasing that there will be some major new announcements about the game next month. What the studio is going to talk about remains to be seen, however, there’s no denying that the title’s superb marketing campaign means fans are waiting with bated breath.
