It’s been a little while since the first Night City Wire premiered toCyberpunk 2077fans, but the next one is promised to be coming soon from CD Projekt Red. While initially planned to come in the subsequent weeks after the first episode in June, the next Night City Wire is a little late but apparently on the way. Media outlets got their first taste ofCyberpunk 2077shortly before the first Wire episode went live, with impressions posted that same day.
Now CD Projekt Red is gearing up for its second episode of the Night City Wire presentation. These consistent updates onCyberpunk 2077are certainly building up hype for the fans, as the long wait until November continues. As for what to expect from the second episode, CD Projekt Red will likely want to go in depth with a lot of the systems and features that previewers got to try during their demos.

When To Expect Night City Wire’s Next Episode
As for when to expect the next Night City Wire episode, it’ll likely premiere within the next week or two. Granted the only official response of when the next episode would release has been “Soon ;)” from the game’s official social channel, after posting concept art from a region of Night City on July 27. The second episode was supposed to premiere “in just a few weeks” after the first Night City Wire, but with the pandemic and many developers/producers working from home, the presentation was likely delayed. That being said, assuming “soon” doesn’t turn into another “when it’s ready,” the presentation will likely be planned for the beginning of August.
As mentioned above, many media outlets and gaming pundits were given access to a demo session provided by CD Projekt Red. Those impressions were posted for embargo right as the first Night City Wire episode premiered, detailing the players' experiences with the game. Many of the elements those previewers talked about will likely be the subject of Night City Wire’s next episode.

One of the biggest topics to come out of media previews were the character backgrounds and backstories players can choose at the beginning of the game.During the initial character customization phase inCyberpunk 2077, players can choose from three different RPG classes: Corpo, Street Kid, and the Nomad. The Corpo gives the player a former corporate strongman background, whereas the Street Kid has grown up amongst the dingy streets and is street-smart. Nomads are seemingly outliers, those who live outside the regions of Night City as mechanics and bandits. Learning about the ins and outs of each classes' archetype in-depth will likely be the next Night City Wire’s subject.
Learninghow each class defines the playstyle players get to embody inCyberpunk 2077would be interesting. The descriptions of each backstory do vaguely lay out what to expect from each, but to learn more about the intricacies of what kind of abilities fall under which class makes sense. After all,Cyberpunk 2077will be an RPG first and foremost. Even though much of the gameplay revolves around a first-person-shooter foundation, the individual abilities will make each playthrough unique.

Cyberpunk’s Skills, Perks, and RPG Progression
Evidently there are two systems of progression inCyberpunk 2077that can be leveled up over time; the generic RPG level progression, and the class specific experience progression as well. Players accumulate both “Level XP” and “Street Cred XP” through every significant action made in the game. It’d be nice to get a deep dive into how these two systems play into one another, and how it relates to the player’s selected class. The lastNight City Wire showed off the Braindance gameplay mechanic in-depth, so it’d be interesting to see how these level progressions and experience factor into the player’s abilities.
More specifically, Night City Wire would do best to dive into the different kinds of perks or abilities that pertain to each class. For example, if a Corpo is good at negotiation or manipulation, what kind of speech abilities or dialogue options do they have exclusively? Do Street Kids have special contacts to the black market for weapon deals? Are Nomads more proficient with mechanical work and fixing tech? The next episode of Night City Wire will likely dive into some of the more specific RPG abilities and elements as we draw closer to the final release date. A lot is already knownabout the world ofCyberpunk 2077, so getting into the nitty gritty RPG elements makes sense at this point.
We’ll know soon enough when the next Night City Wire takes place, and it’ll likely be soon.Cyberpunk 2077is still a few months away, but getting to know all of the inner complexities of its RPG systems before release would be the perfect way to drum up more hype.
Cyberpunk 2077releases on June 26, 2025, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. PS5, Stadia, and Xbox Series X versions are slated for 2021.
