Even though it released four years ago,Dead by Daylightis still going strong, with the asymmetric multiplayer horror game just recently announcing its bigSilent Hillcrossover. Naturally, fans may be wondering what future horror icons could be making their way to the game. While nothing official has been announced beyond Pyramid Head and theSilent Hillcontent,Dead by Daylightgame director Mathieu Cote has said that Jason Voorhees has a “standing invitation” to come to the game.
Speaking to ComicBook, Cote said that Jason can come toDead by Daylight"whenever he’s ready" and “whenever he’s done with whatever he’s got going on in his life right now.” This could be in reference to theFriday the 13thlicensing issuesthat causedFriday the 13th: The Gameto production on its new content shut down. “He’s going to be welcomed with open arms.”

For the uninitiated, Jason Voorhees is already featured in an asymmetric multiplayer horror game of his own calledFriday the 13th: The Game, that’s not all that different fromDead by Daylight. Unfortunately, licensing issues forced the developers to halt production on future content for the game, allowing them to only perform server maintenance and release bug fixes.
If Jason Voorhees was ever added toDead by Daylight, he would be joining an increasingly impressive roster of iconic horror villains.Dead by Daylightalready includes Michael Myers ofHalloweenfame,Ghost Face fromScream, Freddy Krueger fromA Nightmare on Elm Street, and more. There are plenty of other horror villains that fans would love to see inDead by Daylight, and Jason Voorhees is likely near the top of that list.
Of course, newDead by Daylightcontent usually comes with more than just a new killer. It’s likely that ifJason Voorheesdid come toDead by Daylightthat he would be accompanied by a new survivor and a new map for players to try as well. The new map would most likely be based on Camp Crystal Lake, the setting of many of theFriday the 13thmovies, and Tommy Jarvis seems like the obvious choice for aFriday the 13thsurvivor.
It’s unclearFriday the 13thcontent will ever come toDead by Daylight, but fans of the game can check out the newSilent Hillcontent in the meantime.
