As mentioned above,Death Strandinggot amazing reception on PC. The game was able to find an entirely new audience who praised many aspects of the game that were overhauled because of the new platform. Thanks to this more positive reception, many new avenues could be opening up for the game’s creator Hideo Kojima and theDeath StrandingIP as a whole.
There have been long swirling rumors thatSony was unhappy withDeath Stranding’s sales. While the game’s PC release may not be changing that hypothetical stance, it sure is doing some good for Kojima and theDeath StrandingIP. For those who may not know,Death Strandingreceived an official novelization in Japan that hadn’t officially been translated for Western audiences. Yet, it seems one very perceptive Reddit user discovered an Amazon page for an official English translation for Volume One of the novelization.
Volume One of the novelization is apparently 304 pages long, so fans will have a lot of material to sink into ones it releases on June 06, 2025, in both Kindle and paperback versions. Unfortunately, at the moment it seems that hardcover versions won’t be available for purchase. Still, this novelization is only more good news for Western fans ofDeath Strandingand Kojima Productions. Now, there’s a much better chance thatKojima’s teases aboutDeath Stranding 2could hold even more weight. Though, when fans could see that is anyone’s guess.
Death Stranding’s novelization was teased by Kojima on his Instagram back in February of this year. Western fans have had to wait quite a bit for an official English translation, but thankfully the wait was nowhere as long as it could have been, as many other Japanese properties have been translated far slower if at all. Fans can look forward theEnglish release ofDeath Stranding’s novelizationlater this fall.
