One of the more controversial elements toDestiny 2is the games inventory system and all of the various resources and currency players can find while playing. For newer players, this can get pretty overwhelming very fast and with a new destination cominginside of theBeyond Lightexpansion, there could be even more resources being added. Many players already believe the current system is already messier than it should be, but it seems Bungie has some plans its working on related to this issue.
In a new post on theDestiny 2subReddit, one user details just how bloated the game’s inventory screen has become thanks in large part to all of the items and other resources that can be found inside of the game. In additiuon to the large amount of destination materials that can be collected and exchanged, players have more than a handful of upgrade or currency related items that can be found like weapon parts, tokens, shards, modules, prisms, and of course the most basic of the bunch, glimmer.

One wrinkle to all of this outside of the new Europa destination is theDestiny Content Vault, a system that Bungie is utilizing to remove content from the game. In November, numerous legacy destinations like Io and Titan are being vaulted for the forseeable future.Destiny 2Community Manager dmg04 responded to the thread and confirmed that some currencies and items are going to be rotated out alongside the destinations.
Unfortunately, actual details were not given regarding the planned changes to the UI, though the team will be discussing it in an upcoming weekly blog post. The biggest question from players seems to be whether or not items from vaulted content will remain in the inventory or be automatically removed. Some are in favor of having the inventory space back while others are a bit more hesitant in case those destinations ever make a return down the road, something which Bungie admitted could happen. Others brought up a valid point of knowing well before the expansion release so they have enough time to exchange them as needed.
Also, I know there will be questions on “are currencies from DCV destinations going to be removed, or can I exchange them at a vendor in Beyond Light?” - Don’t have info just yet on that. We’ll let you know ASAP!
With the sudden delay toBeyond Light, Bungie has plenty of time to go over these changes with players though that hasn’t slowed the demand for answers.Transmog has been another hot topicfor the community with many fans looking for more answers as to how this system will work and whether or not players will be able to use it for armor from collections. Unfortunately, Bungie doesn’t have many answers there either, with the community simply getting a more general answer that they’ll share more when they can.
Destiny 2is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are also in development.
