Summary
Bungie has confirmed thatDestiny 2’s upcomingThe Final ShapeDLC and its raid will conclude the Light and Darkness saga. This is an important narrative shift as Bungie chose a differentstorytelling format forDestiny 2’sLightfallexpansion, which didn’t sit well with the fans.
SinceDestiny 1launched in 2014, the game’s lore has taken the Guardians to the furthest corners of the galaxy, where they have faced many different foes who threatened their existence. Now, almost a decade later, the game’s story will finally come to an end as the Guardians look to aid the Traveler in defeating the Darkness. As it stands, the Guardians are preparing themselves to pursue their strongest foe yet: the Witness, who is currently beyond their reach after the events ofDestiny 2: Lightfall’s campaign. Despite this revelation, theLightfallDLC left a lot of questions unanswered, and Bungie mentioned that the subsequent seasons will unravel all the mysteries. However, this narrative shift wasn’t a big hit among the fans, and it looks like Bungie is changing its approach for the upcoming DLC in response.
