The highly-anticipated hotfix 7.0.0.6 forDestiny 2is finally live after a lengthy server downtime, with the update bringing a much-needed fix for many of the game’s issues, especially one that has been persistent since the launch of theLightfallexpansion. While this patch won’t fix every bug plaguingDestiny 2, it addresses several problems involving the game’s newly revamped build crafting, damage glitches involving several Exotic weapons, the weekly Deepsight weapon pattern chest from the Root of Nightmares raid, a few Quality-of-life changes, and much more.

Glitches and bugs are common during and after major content releases, and fortunately, the developers are proficient at stamping out these problems quickly. However, players have been uncovering new issues at an alarming rate in the weeks followingLightfall’s launch. While a few of these bugs were either harmless or indirectly beneficial for player progression, like theinvulnerability glitch in one of theDestiny 2: Lightfallcampaign missions, most of the issues were game-breaking and caused one or several parts of the game to be deprecated or outright disabled until fixed.

Bungie’s response to such bugs in-game has been swift, with the developers delaying the Iron Banner Crucible event until the Invisibility glitch received a fix. Shortly after the launch ofLightfall, players discovered that severalDestiny 2enemies' damage is tied to a player’s FPS, with the Cabal Thresher aerial ships being the most notorious perpetrators of this issue. The latest 7.0.0.6 patch has thankfully adjusted the damage output of the Threshers, alongside fixing the bug that made EDZ unavailable to several players. The patch also increased the post-mission timer to allow players to give out commendations more freely and adjusted several Lost Sector-related objectives for Guardian Rank progression.

The 7.0.0.6 patch brings good news for Raiders, as the previously bugged Deepsight puzzle chest is now fixed and will correctly reward those who meet the requirements. The update also addresses several other raid-related issues, like the Focused Light and Focused Darkness buff not applying during the Macrocosm encounter and the Exotic Grenade Launcher Colony damaging immune enemies in Scission. Other fixes include theCatalyst ofDestiny 2’s Two-Tailed Fox working properly, Finisher mods not circumventing the Armor Charge mechanic to spawn excessive amounts of Orbs and Heavy ammo, and much more.

While the 7.0.0.6 patch has addressed several progression-halting and balance-breaking issues, the work is far from over, as new bugs such asSmoke Bomb one-shotting players inDestiny 2’s Crucibleare popping up almost daily. It is unlikely that the game will receive another hotfix before the announced mid-season update, but players should keep their hopes up nonetheless.
