Update 7.3.5 forDestiny 2has finally arrived after weeks of previews from Bungie, bringing major changes to the entire game sandbox and activities like the Crucible. It’s a big week forDestiny 2players as the weekly reset brings about the return of the annual Guardian Games event, pitting all three classes against one another in a friendly competition to see who can earn and bank the most medals over the next few weeks. Known asGuardian Games AllStars for the 2024 edition, the event plays out similarly to previous years, though players will be able to take on powerful Diamond tier challenges to really push their class forward as well.

In addition to Guardian Games, March 5 also brings a massive new update toDestiny 2. Comparable to a mid-season update, this one introduces so many changes and tweaks that Bungie has been preparing the community for it over the past month or so, highlighting a number of changes to things like weapons, abilities, exotics, as well as major tweaks to the Crucible activity. With the weekly reset now live, Bungie has also posted theofficial patch notesfor the latest Destiny 2 update.

Activities were a big focus for Update 7.3.5, withBungie revealing in previous weeks that the Crucible would be receiving substantial changesto the sandbox. Specifically, all maps were giving a quality of life tuning for spawn points, heavy ammo crate locations, and tiebreaker zones to improve matches. The Competitive game modes were also given a third weekly challenge tier which rewards Artifice Armor, and Trials of Osiris has also been tweaked to allow for improved weapon drops on wins as well as making after match drops more rewarding. All Crucible modes have also had their sandboxes modified, changing damage and ability cooldown rates, and much more.

In addition to game mode changes,Destiny 2’s latest update also makes sweeping balance updates to the various weapon types, especially to Heavy Grenade Launchers, as well as a number of exotic weapons like the Vex Mythoclast, Wish-Ender, Vigilance Wing, and Manticore to name a few. Many weapon perks are also getting tweaked and subclass abilities are also getting modified in some way as well. In fact, Update 7.3.5 finally fixes a longstandingDestiny 2issue impacting Restoration and Radiant buffsnot functioning correctly for Solar subclasses.

Alongside the considerable changes to the game,Destiny 2is also offering free Bright Duststarting with the weekly reset for March 5. The weekly gift of 700 Bright Dust can be claimed at the Eververse store each week from March 5 until the launch of The FInal Shape in June, giving dedicated players a big reason to log in each week.
