A bug inDiablo 4is impacting loot for Druids, Blizzard has confirmed. Loot inDiablo 4is perhaps the most important system within the ARPG. Players gather loot not only to gradually enhance their power but also to augment their gameplay in exciting and creative ways. If loot isn’t working as intended, even in small ways, it can hurt the experience in ways that are complicated to analyze. That appears to be the case withDiablo 4’s Druid.InDiablo 4, as players level and unlock increasingly difficult content, they are also given access to new tiers of powerful loot. One type of item is referred to as Unique loot. These items have specific names and while they can have some randomization to their strength, their abilities and affixes are unchanging. Some Unique abilities can define aDiablo 4build, which may not be viable without it. Uniques are said to only become available in World Tier 3, which becomesavailable to unlock after completingDiablo 4’s campaign.RELATED:Diablo 4 Devs Announce Livestream to Address CriticismYet Druids inDiablo 4may not be getting as many Unique items as they should be receiving. It’s a bug that could be holding back Druids across the board in unforeseeable ways. A Twitter post from Jeryl Ng askedDiablogeneral manager Rod Fergussonwhy their Druid was receiving Barbarian Unique weapons as drops. Fergusson responded, confirming that it’s a known issue.

While loot drops for other classes appear to be a rare occurrence inDiablo 4, like receiving a bow drop as a Barbarian, Unique items are supposed to be class exclusive. Barbarians should only receive Barbarian Uniques,Druids should only receive Druid Uniques, and so on. If Druids are earning Unique Barbarian loot at all, that very likely means they’re not getting the Unique Druid loot that they should be receiving.

The scope of the issue is entirely unclear, which could mean that theDiablo 4Druid loot bug could either be very impactful or not at all a serious issue. Perhaps it’s just a single Barbarian Unique item included in theDruid’s loot pool, and actual Unique Druid items don’t have their drop rates impacted more than slightly. Even if that’s true, though, a Druid seeing a Unique item drop and then learning it’s a Barbarian item is going to be disappointed, to say the least.

Blizzard is already working on correcting the bug, according to Fergusson. It seems likely that the fix can be issued via hotfix, since loot tables arehandled onDiablo 4’s servers. While no patch may be required, Blizzard still needs to fix the bug first and that could take some time. Expect updates on the Druid Unique loot bug soon.

Diablo 4is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
