Yesterday, id Software’s lead engine programmer, Billy, Khan, talked about what PC players can expect onDoom Eternal. According to Khan, PC players with a highly optimized setup can expect an insane performance thanks to the studio’s proprietary game engine called id Tech 7. According to Khan, they were able to runDoom Eternal at 400 frames per secondusing a specialized setup, which is definitely impressive even with today’s technology.
Meanwhile, id Software’s creative director, Hugo Martin, revealed last month thatDoom Eternalwill not feature any microtransactions. The developer clearly stated that becauseDoom Eternalis a full-priced game, it will provide players with “a complete experience” with no in-game store that requires any real-world currency. Instead of letting players pay their way into the game, Martin revealed thatDoom Eternalwill have a system for unlocking content, which will allow players to earn XP that can be used to obtain in-game cosmetics.
