The Mystic Spearhand Maister inDragon’s Dogma 2is someone players can potentially meetpretty early in the game. However, to unlock the Mystic Spearhand Maister ability, you will need to go deep into one of the game’s later zones, and defeat one of the most difficult world bosses: a Drake.
This Drake is the same type that players fight in Melve during the"Readvent of Calamity" quest, and has similar weaknesses. This time, though, it won’t fly away. This guide explains how to find the Mystic Spearhand Maister location, what the Spearhand Maister skill does, and what exactly the Arisen must do to earn the approval of the Maister.

DD2 Mystic Spearhand-Maister Ultimate Overview
Wild Furie (Paladin’s Enigmata Scroll)
Unleashes a relentless flurry of slashes and magickal attacks. Additional button presses continue the onslaught by consuming Stamina. Additional button presses continue the attack.
Wild Furie is arguably the best Mystic Spearhand skill because of both its damage output, the speed of its strikes, and the potential range that it can cover. When the player activates Wild Furie, they will lunge toward their nearest opponent and begin rapidly slashing at them. As the Wild Furie input continues to be pressed rapidly, the strikes continue and deal more damage, culminating in a final downward strike from both you and an ethereal version of yourself.

In the trailers for the Mystic Spearhand, players noticed that theVocation seemed to have an abilitythat summoned a clone of the Arisen in combat. Indeed, this ghostly copy of the player is summoned temporarily as part of the string of Wild Furie attacks. It doesn’t hang around as a follower, unfortunately, and will disappear at the end of the combo string.
Remember to watch your Stamina bar as you continue the Wild Furie onslaught. This Mystic Spearhand ultimate skill can be chained over and over, but it will cost Stamina with each input. By the end of the Wild Furie combo chain, your Stamina bar will likely need to be replenished.

Where To Find Sigurd & Unlock The Spearhand Ultimate Ability
You don’t need tounlock the Mystic Spearhand Vocationbefore heading to the Mystic Spearhand Maister location inDragon’s Dogma 2– but it’s not a bad idea to unlock Mystic Spearhand early and learn how the class works.
To do this, head to Melve after reaching Vernworth and after completing one of Brant’s quests. Deal enough damage to the Drake that appears there so that it flies away, then talk to Sigurd and ask about his Fighting Style. By unlocking the class before continuing to unlock the Mystic Spearhand-Maister ultimate skill, you can equip and use it right away.
If not already unlocked, Sigurd will also teach the Vocation after he approaches the Arisen’s party at the summit of Dragonsbreath Tower. But because there is no Vocation Guild nearby, you won’t be able to swap to Mystic Spearhand until after completing Sigurd’s quest for the Spearhand-Maister skill.
Step Two: Battahl To Dragonsbreath Tower
Once ready tohead to Dragonsbreath Tower, where Sigurd and the Mystic Spearhand Maister skill can be found, head to Bakbattahl. It’s not a bad idea to place aPortcrystaloutside the city gates here, as it’s a central location in the Arisen’s quests in Battahl, and there is no other fast travel point nearby.
Dragonsbreath Tower is southwest of Bakbattahl, practically along the main road leading southwest from the city. Follow the route outlined in the map above for the fastest route on foot. You can also take a Ropeway almost all the way to a bridge that leads to the path to Dragonsbreath Tower.
Step Three: The Mountain Path & Meeting Sigurd
Once you cross the bridge, the rest of the way to Dragonsbreath Tower is relatively simple. Follow the path up the mountain, past hordes of Goblins, Bandits, and world bosses like Ogres, until you reach a campsite. Pass through the stone doorway that leads toward the ruins above, and a cutscene will play wherein Sigurd requests to join your party to defeat the Drake above.
Accept his help, then continue upward. You should pass through a short labyrinthian set of ruins filled with Goblins, then come out on top of Dragonsbreath Tower. The fight with the Drake begins not long after entering the boss arena.
Step Four: Defeat The Drake, Then Talk To Sigurd
Defeating this Drake is similar to defeating the Drake that you foughtafter heading back to Melve(if you went back for the “Readvent of Calamity” quest, that is). In addition to normal Drake-fighting tactics, be sure to aim specifically for the sores and blisters that writhe all over its body.
Damaging these pustules deals damage to the boss, and bursting one can interrupt it. When all are burst, it will collapse and be vulnerable to critical strikes for a few moments. When it is downed, aim for the weak point on its chest to deal immense damage. If it gets back up again the sores will regenerate. Remember to use shielding and defensive abilities liberally in this fight.
When the Drake is finally defeated, Sigurd will approach you and thank you for your help. He will remark on your skills and officially give you his approval to earn the Mystic Spearhand Maister ultimate skill.
Once Sigurd gives you thePaladin’s Enigmata, use it from your inventory to unlock Wild Furie. You will need to either rest at the nearby Campsite or travel to a Vocation Guild to add the Mystic Spearhand Meister skill to your active skills.
