Sorceress Sellenis an NPC inElden Ring. Should players accept to be her student,Sellen will become a merchant that teaches Spells. Throughout her quest, Tarnished can find her in multiple locations, and she will lead them to her real body when they finally earn her trust. To reach that phase, several tasks must first be completed.
UnlikeRanni the WitchandFia, the Deathbed Companion, Sellen’s questline won’t unlock a special ending inElden Ring. However, it will award players with new Armor sets and some Spells. Getting hold of these rewards won’t be easy though, as both the sets and Spells are scattered across the Lands Between.

Being kicked out of the Academy of Raya Lucaria, Sellen can be first encountered in Waypoint Ruins locked in a cell guarded by Mad Pumpkin Head.Upon accepting to study GlintstoneSorcery, Sellen starts to consider Tarnished her apprentice. It isn’t until much later when Mt.Gelmir is explored and Master Azur is located does the Witch’s quest continue. Later on, players are tasked with finding another Scholar for Glintstone Sorcery, Master Lusat, as well as helping Sellen find a new vessel.
How To Start Sorceress Sellen Quest In Elden Ring
To start Sellen’s quest, players should travel toWaypoint Ruinsin western Limgrave. There are a lot of poisonous enemies guarding the ruins entrance. After killing them all, players should use the stairs to go down and beat theMad Pumpkin Head. Primeval Sorcerer Azuris north of theHermit Villagein Mt. Gelmir.Tarnished will have to get the map fragmentfor better navigation.Primeval Sorcerer Azurused to be Sellen’s tutor and will need to be found in order to continue with her quest.
The old mage can be found justnorth of theHermit Villagein Mt. Gelmir. To reach it, Tarnished must circle the volcano.
In the far north of the village, players can spot Primeval Sorcerer Azur sitting behind giant rocks. Also, a bonfire with his name is right in front of him. He won’t speak upon interacting with him, but, after a while, will give Tarnished theComet AzurSpell. It requires 60 Intelligence and needs three spell slots to be equipped.
After obtaining the spell, players should go back to Waypoint Ruins and speak with Sellen. If they exhaust her dialogue, she’ll eventually ask them to findMaster Lusatwho’s been exiled and locked away. Sellen then gives Tarnished theSellian Sealbreakerkey.
Where To Find Master Lusat In Elden Ring
Master Lusat is inside theSellia Hideawaycave in northeast Caelid. To find the sorcerer, players should head to theChurch of the Plaguesoutheast of Caelid and travel from there.
If they keep going north for long enough, players will eventually reach a graveyard. Behind the large monument in the middle, is the entrance to the Sellia Hideaway. It’s an illusionary wall, so players will need to hit it before they can go inside.
Once inside, light the Site of Lost Grace and prepare to fight annoying enemies.

Tarnished will have to use the Sellian Sealbreaker inElden Ringto get inside and find Master Lusat. The Sorcerer will give Tarnished theStars of RuinSpell, after which, they should report back to Sorceress Sellen.
Sorceress Sellen’s Second Location In Elden Ring
AfterdefeatingStarscourge RadahninElden Ring, players should talk to Sellen in Waypoint Ruins. She’ll reveal that her actual body is inWitchbane Ruins, west of Weeping Peninsula. Players can find the location south of theFourth Church of Marika. Alternatively, fast-travel to the Isolated Merchant’s Shack (Weeping Peninsula) and summon Torrent to proceed north. The Witchbane Ruins inElden Ringcan be easily seen from a distance.
ensure to stay on the Spectral Steed as the ruin is surrounded by a Poison swamp. Moreover, it’s best to kill the enemies before venturing down as they will follow players and attack while talking to Sellen. Upon entering the ruins, they’ll find Sellen shackled. She’ll ask them to takeSellen’s Primal Glintstone, which is her life essence, and give it to another body.
Once they’ve received the Glintstone, Tarnished will need to travel to theThree Sistersin the far north of Liurnia of the Lakes, which is only accessible after defeatingRoyal Knight Loretta. There are ruins between Renna’s andRanni’s Rise inElden Ring. They should teleport to the latter and then go north. One part of the ruins will appear immediately, which is a long platform surrounded by columns. The secret entrance is somewhere in the middle, covered up by an illusionary wall. Revealing the hidden entrance requires rolling on the blocked entrance.
Inside, there’s a glowing note that Seluvis left. Next to it is a hidden wall that players can roll into or attack to reveal more puppets, and, more importantly, Sorceress Sellen. Players should give her Sellen’s Primal Glintstone to finally free her.
Now, Tarnished must travel to Witchbane Ruins to speak withWitch HunterJerren. If he’s not there, they may need to go toRedmane Castleand exhaust his dialogue there before coming back to the ruins.
If by any chance players are unable to give the puppet Sellen’s Primal Glintstone, teleport first to Witchbane Ruins, speak with Jerren, and then interact with Sellen’s puppet.
How To Complete Sorceress Sellen Quest In Elden Ring
The final step is to travel to the Grand Library inRaya Lucaria Academy. This location isRennala, Queen of the Full Moon boss room inElden Ring. From here, Tarnished must go outside to where the lift is and find two summon signs: gold and red. Each one has different outcomes, so they’ll need to choose wisely.

After exhausting Sellen’s dialogue inside the Grand Academy, players should reload the area and Rennala will take her place back. From there, players can explore these places to find the following items:
Sellen will stay inside the Grand Library in Raya Lucaria Academy instead of Rennala until players find Lusat.
