Elder Scrolls OnlineChapters aren’t quite like expansions for other MMOs – each year-long story is comprised of four staggered DLC releases throughout the Chapter’s lifespan. There are two that add Trials, and two that add major features like new zones and mechanics.High Isleis the larger of the two major DLC planned for the Legacy of the Bretons story, bringing with it a ton of new content and features for players to learn in theidyllic Breton setting of High Isle.

High Isle and Amenos Are Two Never-Before-Seen Zones

Most Chapters forElder Scrolls Onlineinclude one large new zone for players to explore - inHigh IsleESO adds both High Isle and Amenos, both contained on the same map. Though the overall map size is not particularly larger than in previous Chapters, it’s nonetheless neat to have some variety in the landscape.

High Isle is the center of activity in the region and serves as a neutral resort for nobility across Tamriel. Compared toBlackwood, theHigh IsleChapter’s story is much smaller in scope. You won’t see Mehrunes Dagon towering over you threatening the end of the world, the threat inHigh Isleis much more subtleand politically motivated.

Tales of Tribute is not for everyone, but there are sure to be more side-games to come down the line.

Two New Followers Can Be Obtained In High Isle: Isobel and Ember

TheBlackwoodChapter introduced the Companionsystem in 2021, one of the most-requested features forElder Scrolls Online. There were only two options, though, being Mirri and Bastian. More were promised, and inHigh Isleplayers can add two more companions to their entourage: Isobel the Breton and Ember the Khajit.

Isobel is a Lawful Good Templar-type follower who is just as good at tanking for players as she is at healing them. Ember the Khajiit is a Sorcerer who turns a blind eye to a variety of traditionally evil things - while Mirri can also do decent damage, Ember is the better ranged option to complement a melee build.

Volcanic Vents Are The Main High Isle World Event

Each new Chapter forElder Scrolls Onlineadds a new World Event. The base game, of course, had Dark Anchors that saw players defend an area against intrusion from Molag Bal’s forces. Starting with theSummersetChapter these were replaced with themed world events based on each zone, inSummerset’s case, Abyssal Geysers.

High Isle Adds Ten New Armor Sets And Five New Mythics

Cosmetics aren’t the only apparel added withHigh Isle. The Chapter also adds a whopping ten new armor sets that each seem to be pretty well-placed in theElder Scrolls Onlinemeta. Each of the new sets can be obtained either through special crafting locations out in the open world, via bosses in Trials, or by completing other major tasks throughout theHigh Isleexpansion like Dailies.

There are five new Mythic items added withHigh Isleas well, which each take a lot more effort to obtain. InESO Mythics are unlockedby completing a set of five specific Leads which can be obtained almost anywhere in Tamriel. Players have figured out the lead locations for all Mythics inHigh Isle, but a word of advice: don’t go looking for the Oakensoul Ring leads until the game has been out for a few weeks, as it’s easily the most popular in theHigh IsleChapter and it’s unlikely you’ll even get a chance to loot the Strongboxes with so many other players around.
