Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s placement on the list is also somewhat expected. The game was 2020’s best-selling game in April alone and has turned out to bethe best-sellingCall of Dutyentry so far.
AsRed Dead Redemption 2was a late 2018 release, and one ofthat year’s most anticipated titles, it makes sense that it would see strong sales over the course of 2019. Further,Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderwas one of 2019’s most anticipated titles and has since proven a success for EA, which is carrying on theStar Warsvideo game brand withStar Wars: Squadrons.
Rainbow Six Siege, which has a PS5 and Xbox Series X version in the works, performed strongly in Europe for 2019. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled’s appearance on the list might be the only oddball of the list, considering other 2019 releases likeThe Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening,Resident Evil 2, andGears 5. However, the game also proved to be a well-received hit and captured the essence of the 1999 original.
