Fall Guys, the online party game where players push, climb, and grab to become the last bean standing, just launched its highly anticipated third season. Season 3 ofFall Guysadds a bunch of new levels to play through, as well as a new progression track for winning Crowns. But with the new content arrived a few unfortunate bugs. For example, fan-favorite stage Hex-A-Gone is having some physics issues and has been disabled. Mediatonic’s working on a solution, but it may be a bit yet.
The exact problem withHex-A-Goneisn’t made explicitly clear by Mediatonic. However, the game’s social media account did warn that some stages had been eliminating all players at the start of a round. There was one nasty Hex-A-Gone bug from past seasons where the entirety of Hex-A-Gone’s tiles wouldn’t load, leading all players to fall to a loss immediately. That may have returned and would certainly warrant being pulled until a fix was issued.

Another potential bug has to do with how theFall Guysbeans bump into each other. Some players are saying that even lightly touching another bean makes it so aFall Guywill fall over. Further, it now takes longer to stand up. Those familiar with Hex-A-Gone know that falling over will lead to the tile below the player disappearing. After falling to the next level, players can’t stand up very fast, which means players will continue falling through all of Hex-A-Gone’s multiple layers. That would surely demand a fix, too.
As for the cause of the problem, that too is a mystery. There are some potential areas of issue, however. With Season 3, it appears that the tiles in Hex-A-Gone, as well as a lot of varying tile objects from other stages, have been reworked. They’re perhaps based on the same tech as thenew ice tiles. Or, as noted previously, the physics for player interaction may have been tweaked leading to odd results. Knowing game development, the problem likely has to do with all of the above, working together in some difficult-to-predict way.
Hex-A-Gone isn’t the only change that Mediatonic has had to make forFall Guyspost-Season 3 launch. The new Crown progression ranking is also still broken. Basically, for those that have earned Crowns prior to Season 3, rewards haven’t been given for previously earned ranks. Mediatonic plans to fix this by the end of the week, however.
What’s especially unfortunate about the situation is that developers typically get the upcoming weeks off for the holidays. Hopefully, Season 3’s problems don’t keepMediatonicfrom getting a well-deserved break. Players can probably go without Hex-A-Gone until the new year. There’s plenty of other fun new modes to try out, anyway.
