Summary
AFallout 4gamer is still meticulously crafting their settlements nearly a decade after the game’s release. The player created a bright and cheerful neighborhood that directly juxtaposes the post-apocalyptic landscape of the vast majority ofFallout 4.
Like most modern Bethesda RPGs,Fallout 4features robust character and settlement-building mechanics. The developer’s latest RPG,Starfield, also features robust character and spaceship-building mechanics. Customization has long been expected in series likeFallout,Elder Scrolls, and now as ageneration-defining feature inStarfield. Still, the settlement building inFallout 4calls out to many gamers who are looking to explore the wastelands.

Fallout 4player and Reddit user sirbalz created an impressive neighborhood within the game that is somewhat reminiscent of Bill’s town fromThe Last of Us. However, the gamer was actually inspired by the world ofFar Cry 5. The neighborhood is much bigger than it seems from the screenshot too, as its full scale is shown off in a YouTube video the player made along with a lengthy lore explanation. Those who played the game will likely recognize severalmemorable locations fromFar Cry 5.
The gamer estimates that they spent 45-50 hours creating the settlement, which is honestly impressive considering the sheer scale of the build. Even without knowledge ofFar Cry 5, the effort that goes into building a neighborhood like this within a game is evident. With all the customization options available, it’s easy to see whyFallout 4ranks amongthe best base-building post-apocalyptic games.
Character and settlement-building mechanics give games likeFallout 4near-infinite replayablity. Not to mention, there are a ton ofFallout 4mods that make settlement-building better. Still, this is one small aspect within a larger RPG. There are so many areas to explore, NPCs to interact with, and sidequests to complete, but gamers can spend hours upon hours in the customization screens of the various character and settlement builders.
This isn’t the first time sirbalz has created something epic like this either. The gamer recently showed off theirincredible Diagon Alley settlement from theHarry Pottermovies inFallout 4. They also spent a year working on the same impressive settlement, and they also constructed a gladiator arena and Cyberpunk City all using the settlement builder withinFallout 4. Overall, the gamer appears to simply be a master at constructing elaborate cities and buildings within the world ofFallout.
Fallout 4is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
