AFallout 4player has made an incredibly nostalgic discovery while rooting through their old possessions. With the game released all the way back in 2015, it won’t be long untilFallout 4is actually considered a retro game to many gamers.

Even eight years afterFallout 4was first released, it seems as though gamers are always discovering new things about Bethesda’s RPG. The studio has a reputation for incredible attention to in-game detail, and it’s one of the main reasons that gamers continue to choose its games over newer titles. One gamer evenspent an entire year building a whole city insideFallout 4. It’s a title that has captivated audiences for a long time now, and withFallout 76’s online components not being for everyone, it’s something players will still be returning to for some time to come.

The discovery was made by Redditor Banaaninen, who found an old poster forFallout 4while opening their old game case. The poster depictsFallout 4’s perk tree, with every SPECIAL stat featured, just like in the game itself. The user claims they’re planning to frame the poster, while others in the thread had a more useful idea for it. One gamer said they use it to help with their character build whenever they’re starting a new playthrough of the RPG. It’s a great example of the enduring perks of physical media, in an era where many opt to go entirely digital instead.

Upon release,Fallout 4had plenty of additional merch for players to pick up as extras. TheFallout 4Pip-Boy editioneven came with an actual Pip-Boy, with a mobile companion app that worked alongside the game itself. While many saw it as gimmicky, it still represented a level of care and detail going into the game’s release. Luckily, this SPECIAL poster was included with every physical copy of the game, so it wasn’t something that gamers had to pay extra for.

TheFalloutfranchise is going through a quiet period at the moment. AlthoughFallout 76continues to receive content gradually, it doesn’t have a huge player base anymore and certainly didn’t make the positive splash thatFallout 4did on the series' reputation. While theFalloutTV show at Amazon has received a first look, a solid release date has yet to be revealed. With Bethesda currently occupied byStarfield, and presumably moving on to the already-announcedElder Scrolls 6afterward, gamers could be looking at a very long wait for any sign ofFallout 5. Perhaps the Microsoft acquisition of Bethesda will give the developer the resources to work on multiple titles simultaneously.

Fallout 4is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions coming in 2023.
