The popular manga and anime series,My Hero Academia, and the biggest fighting game of all time,Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, exist in two very different spaces. However, withMy Hero Academiahaving just finished its 5th season, andSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatehaving just revealed its last DLC fighter, a fan has taken a look at both franchises to make note of similarities.
Both franchises are known for their unique cast of characters as well as the various abilities they possess to aid them in fights. For those unfamiliar,My Hero Academiafollows several characters that attend a school in the hopes that they can become heroes. They each have a quirk, which is essentially an ability that they uniquely possess, such as super strength or the ability to fly. Although thecharacters inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimateare quite different than those inMy Hero Academiain terms of ability and personality, one fan has found some similarities, creatively combining several characters together.

Some of the characters that the Reddit user by the name of rikiprosper managed to combine are actually quite accurate. Besides the obvious combination of certain characters such as Mario and Bakugo, or Pikachu and Kaminari, rikiprosper surprises with a few other characters. Love him or hate him, one of themost hated characters to play against is probably Ness, and funny enough, he’s combined with Mineta - the most hated character fromMy Hero Academia. Their abilities are not the same nor are their personalities, but the combination still works wonderfully.
Also surprisingly accurate is the combination of Uraraka with Kirby. Uraraka posses the float quirk, which allows her to make anyone or anything she touches float. This fits well with Kirby’s weightlessness inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate, which allows him to continuously fly and seemingly float in the air when not actively flying. Of course, unlike Uraraka,Kirby is also able to take powers from other characters, which seemingly plays into the design in the picture.
The fanart is full of other unique and funny combinations that one probably wouldn’t realize makes sense until thought about some more. AlthoughMy Hero Academiahas several video games available, as it started as a manga, the idea of actually seeing these characters crossover into a fighting game likeSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatewill, unfortunately, have to be saved for fan creations.
For eager fans that do want to seeMy Hero Academiacrossover with other franchises, however,several characters are included inJump Force. Unfortunately, the mixed reception ofJump Forceleaves the future of the video game unclear, but because of the massive appeal ofMy Hero Academia, it’s possible this series will have another crossover sometime in the future.
