OneStarfieldplayer with some serious design skills managed to recreate the flying taxi fromThe Fifth Elementin Bethesda’s latest game. Apart from exemplifying the vast capabilities ofStarfield’sship builder, their achievement also serves as a stellar callback toLuc Besson’s enigmatic sci-fi classicfrom 1997.

BetweenStarfield’shard sci-fi inspirationsand in-depth ship construction mechanics, Bethesda’s newest RPG offers a prime opportunity for science fiction fans to recreate some of the genre’s most iconic vessels. And though the likes ofStar WarsandStar Trekhave unsurprisingly dominated such community creations to date, that’s not to say other sci-fi works haven’t already inspired some impressive spacecraft in their own right.

The latest example of that diversity comes from Reddit user RADiCALRUX, who managed to design an authentic recreation of the flying taxi fromThe Fifth ElementinStarfield. While that’s far from the only hovering vehicle seen in the 1997 classic, the futuristic New York City cab operated by Bruce Willis’s Korben Dallas is instantly evocative of the sci-fi flick, and thisStarfieldrendition of the iconic car does a remarkable job at capturing the essence of its peculiar retrofuturistic aesthetic.

That feat is all the more impressive given howStarfield’sship builderdoesn’t allow players to construct a functional vessel the size of an actual car, meaning that this replica had to be much larger than the cab that inspired it. Faced with that requirement, its author decided to go all out with the size of their recreation, designing an absolutely massive spacecraft spanning four floors. The vessel also appears to be around 80 feet long, given how its lower body consists of six All-in-One Berths, three-by-one blocks that are approximately 13 feet in length each.

And while the final result looks remarkably similar to the taxi fromThe FifthElement, the replica’s driver’s cabin actually houses its pressurized entrance on top of some amenities, while the ship’s true cockpit is situated just above its bumper recreation, between the would-be headlights. Hundreds of fans impressed with the taxi-shaped ship voted to bring it to the front page ofStarfield’slargest subreddit earlier this week.

This inspiring homage toThe Fifth Elementadds to the already substantial list of similarly high-effort creations authored by the game’s fandom. That growing list of vessels already includes aStarfieldversion of the Naboo N-1 starfighter fromStar Wars, several flying Batmobiles, and even somePokemon-themed spacecraft, among many other custom ships.
