The information comes via a translation from a Twitter user, aitaikimochi, of Motomu Toriyama, the co-director ofFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth, who revealed at the Taipei Game Show 2024 that Costa del Sol will now have an all-new story. The translation went on to say that the resort would be the place whereCloud and companycould have some downtime amid the seriousness of the story.

It was also revealed that player choice will play a part in the game and even affect cutscenes depending on the affinity between party members. This affinity level will also have an impact in combat, where players will have various team attacks.Summons inFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirthwill also be getting an update where players can now upgrade their materia to make them stronger. Additionally, there will be a variety of mini-games, including Chocobo races, where players can earn gear for their feathered pals.
