Summary
While almost every character inFinal Fantasy 7is beloved by fans, Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind are two favorites. Vincent’s mysterious personality adds an enormous amount of depth to his character, as players long to know the full extent ofVincent Valentine’s tragic backstory. Cid, on the other hand, comes off as a rather gruff mechanic with no filter, yet his loyalty and dedication to his friends tend to soften him up. Both are compelling characters in their own way, which is why they are so adored by theFinal Fantasyfan base. Unfortunately, while they will make an appearance inFinal Fantasy 7 Remake’s sequel,Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, they are not yet playable.
As fans have learned that Vincent and Cid won’t be playable inFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth, many have expressed their disappointment that they will likely need to wait until the third and final chapter of the trilogy to enjoy them as playable characters. Despite everything thatFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirthhas going for it, especially after the community got their hands on the recent demo, the gameplay restrictions placed on two of the original game’s most beloved companions are a huge drawback.

An Unplayable Vincent and Cid Is a Drawback to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Vincent and Cid are both beloved for their unique personalities, but fans are still disappointed despite their appearances inFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth. This is because of what they could add to the game’s combat as playable characters — Vincent, especially. In the originalFinal Fantasy 7, Vincent has four very distinctLimit Breaks: Galian Beast, Death Gigas, Hellmasker, and Chaos. Each of these transforms Vincent, providing him with new, unique abilities. Apart from his Limit Breaks, Vincent specializes in various firearms, so fans have longed to see that translated over to theRemaketrilogy.
Whereas Vincent primarily shined in his Limit Breaks, Cid brought raw power to the table in the originalFinal Fantasy 7. Using spears, Cid could attack single targets or multiple targets simultaneously. During his ultimate Limit Break, Highwind, Cid would jump up into the air and launch a barrage of rockets at multiple enemies. Highwind is widely known for the massive amount of damage it can deal, so fans would undoubtedly love to be able to use Cid in theFinal Fantasy 7 Remaketrilogy simply to see this skill in action with modern technology. Thankfully, bothVincent and Cidwill more than likely be playable in the final game of the trilogy.

Vincent and Cid Will Presumably Be Playable in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3
Although Vincent and Cid won’t be playable inFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth, they will more than likely be playable inFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, and there are a few reasons why this is bound to happen. Firstly, the two beloved characters were both eventually playable in the originalFinal Fantasy 7. Secondly, Cid will certainly be given a more prominent role in the next title, asFF7 Remake Part 3has been confirmed to feature airship travelvia Cid’s Highwind.
Finally, Vincent and Cid were the last two characters to join the party in the originalFinal Fantasy 7, so judging by howFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3will be the last game in the trilogy, it will likely see both of them joining the party. The only reason Vincent and Cid would not be playable inFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3is if Square Enix decided to make a drastic change to the original game’s final party roster. However, this would be disappointing, as it could be too significant of a departure from the original game. As such, fans should expect Vincent and Cid to join the party as playable characters in the closing chapter of the trilogy.
