Following its recent release,Elden Ringhas managed to gain a massive following. From seasoned players that have experienced FromSoftware’s ruthless difficulty before, to newcomers that look to test the waters,Elden Ringis a comparatively more approachable game. However, one new player has recently gone above and beyond by beating one of the first bosses at level one.
One of the primary aspects that FromSoftware has chosen to emphasize in its games since the advent ofDemon’s Souls, is the brutal difficulty. The intended effect being that the overwhelming sense of accomplishment the player feels after finally beating a tough enemy more than outweighs the grueling effort it takes to beat them. Though, a newcomer to FromSoftware’s soul-crushing difficulty managed to beat one the earliest bosses inElden Ringat an extreme disadvantage.

Over on Reddit, a user named greasybacon27 posted gameplay footage of how the user beat theTree Sentinelat level one. What’s considerably more impressive is that not only does the user claim that this is their first FromSoftware game, but they also beat the boss as a Wretch, which is considered the weakest class early on inElden Ring.
By the standards of several longtime fans ofFromSoftware, this must be a truly impressive feat. Not only does the user have no experience with any other FromSoftware game, but managed to kill one of the earliest bosses at level one while playing as the weakest class inElden Ring. An experience such as that will certainly condition the user for all the other in-game bosses.
It’s amazing how much newfound attentionElden Ringhas garnered in such a short timeframe. In many ways, players considerElden Ringto be the perfect culmination of all other FromSoftware games. Given the open-world nature ofElden Ring’spresentation, as well as more forgiving fall damage, the game is definitely much more friendly to beginners. Though, most beginners likely won’t be able to do what this user managed to pull off.
In any case, it will be interesting to see what the future holds forElden Ringgoing forward. It’s been almost a month since the game first launched andrumors ofElden RingDLChave already begun to circulate. Not every FromSoftware title has received DLC, so it’s possible that the same could also be said ofElden Ring. With any luck, FromSoftware provide an official comment on the subject in the months to come.
Elden Ringis available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
