Epic Games has officially announced the collaboration betweenFortniteandMy Hero Academia. The popular manga and anime has been rumored forFortniteever since the start of Chapter 4 when a strange All Might pickaxe floated through the background of a cinematic trailer. The collaboration is now confirmed, andFortniteplayers will be excited to hear it’s similar in scale to theDragon Ballpartnership. That means not only will there beMy Hero Academiaskins inFortnite, but also extra gameplay-altering additions.My Hero Academiais currently one of the most popular and successful mangas in Japan. It revolves around a world where a majority of people have special Quirk superpowers. Protagonist Deku, however, doesn’t, despite being a superhero mega-fan and desperately wanting to help people.Deku’s idol All Mighthelps him realize his dream, leading to Deku enrolling in U.A. High School, which trains the next generation of heroes. Deku,My Hero Academia’s main protagonist, is the first skin. Deku’s mentor All Might is the second skin. The remaining two skins go to Deku’s most notable classmates,rival Katsuki Bakugoand love interest Ochako Uraraka. Each skin can be purchased individually with accompanying back bling or via two bundles. The first bundle is for All Might and includes a back bling, a pickaxe, and two emotes. The second bundle features all three U.A. High School students and their respective back blings.
There’s much more than just the fourMy Hero Academiaskins inFortniteas part of the collaboration, however. TheFortniteBattle Royale Island has a new item named the One For All, a punch that can devastate both opponents and structures. There are also All Might Supply Drops that will fall from the sky for the duration of the event.
Outside of the battle royale, there are the limited-time Hero Training Gym game mode. On this island,Fortniteplayers can battle opposing teams using the One For All attack and destroy the custom map in the process. There’s also several quests to complete in the Hero Training Gym, which will rewards sprays, an emoticon, and the exclusive U.A. Cape back bling.
Suffice it to say, there’s plenty ofMy Hero Academiacontent for fans of the manga and anime to enjoy inFortnitefor the time being. It’s all available now, though it won’t last forever. Like with other collaborations, theMy Hero Academiaevent will end before long and take all of its exclusive content with it. The Hero Training Gym quests, for example, will disappear on December 29 at 7:00 PM ET. The rest of theMy Hero Academiacollaborationis likely to follow soon after.
