Though some players expected the nextForniteoutfits to be based on theUnchartedseries, many players will at the very least be surprised to see the newest outfits being added. This is because the new outfits are none other than one of R&B’s biggest teams, the Silk Sonic duo of Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak.

The duo’s update, which launches on February 10 at 7 PM ET, will see the Silk Sonic duo joiningFortnite’s Icon series of outfits, joining other big names such as Ariana Grande, LeBron James, and Marshmello. Three different outfits will be released for each of the celebrities, each sporting different colors and themes.
Though both the Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak outfits will be available for purchase in the shop,Fortnitesometimes holds tournaments to unlock cosmetics early; this will hold true for these outfits, as the game will hold a Silk Sonic Cup tournament on February 7 and players will have the chance to unlock the outfits if they score high enough. Along with winning the outfits, players will also be able to win some back bling based on the duo.
As with thelarge amount of cosmetics withFortnite’s Green Goblin, the Silk Sonic duo also sports a series of stylish cosmetic additions. Along with the aforementioned back bling, which includes a golden microphone that doubles as a pickaxe skin and a drum with the Silk Sonic logo on it, other cosmetics will be available to players on February 10. Along with the new microphone pickaxe, another pickaxe skin is coming in the form of the Boom Bap pickaxe, which looks to be an amalgamation of two drums fashioned into a hammer. The last cosmetic is a new spray; called the “sleek” spray, it depicts the Silk Sonic duo’s heads together in black and white.
Withtons of potentialFortnitecrossover events planned, the future of gaming’s most popular battle royale seems all but secure. Though there are many that are unsatisfied withFortnite’s cosmetic releases, the diversity of characters and celebrities added leads to each player having at least one character they wish to play as. In the case of Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak, who are huge music stars, there are sure to be many players excited by the news that they can drop in as the Silk Sonic duo.
