Summary
Fortnitewill remove four major named locations with the release of Chapter 5 Season 3. TheFortniteisland is constantly changing, so even if fans find a favorite landing spot, they can’t get too comfortable, as it could be removed at any given time. While the map is entirely renewed when a new chapter starts, it’s common for season-themed locations to be replaced with the release of a new season. On top of this, the several updates that are done throughout a season also tend to add landmarks and other interesting areas, and sometimes even remove them, especially when there’s a connection with the game’s lore.
With thestart ofFortnite’s Chapter 5 Season 3getting closer each day, the community has started to speculate which POIs and landmarks will no longer be available with its launch. The teasers that have been released have given some insight into the season setting, as well as the changes that are being made to certain locations on the map. Fans had already gathered from theFortnitexFalloutreveal video that Snooty Steppes will remain in the game, though the location will suffer major changes due to the sandstorm that’s about to hit the island.

Players can finally stop speculating, asFortnitehas revealed which named locations will be removed in the upcoming update.Fortnitehas several accounts for each language, and the Spanish variant shared a picture on WhatsApp of four POIs with the caption, “Be honest, which locations will you miss the most?” This makes it clear that somefan-favorite landing locationswill no longer be available in the nextFortniteseason.
Locations Being Vaulted in Chapter 5 Season 3
During theFortniteChapter 5 Season 2 live event, the statue on top of Mount Olympus gathered power to strike Pandora’s Box with almighty lightning. After this happened, its energy bounced to the southern part of the island and exploded in the ocean in the distance, leaving behind a blinking red light. Eventually, a sandstorm formed around it, and it became clear that the light came from a shark-like boat.
It is unknown why these regions willdisappear from theFortniteisland. It seems that the sandstorm won’t be the reason behind their destruction; otherwise, it would only target items on the northern part of the island, which is not the case. The Underworld is on the northwest corner of the map and Fencing Fields is right in the center. However, it is clear that several locations will be affected by the sand, given the appearance of Snooty Steppes in theFalloutteaser.
