Sony first launched its PlayStation 5 console in November 2020. Even though it’s been nearly two years since the PlayStation 5’s launch, the console is still incredibly difficult to find. The COVID-19 pandemic, supply chain issues, chip shortages, scalpers, bots buying up online stock, and more problems have made it virtually impossible for many to get their hands on a PS5. However, there will reportedly be somePS5 bundles available at GameStopthis coming Friday, June 24.

This latest GameStop console restock will be exclusive toPowerUp Rewards Pro members, which is to be expected as it is part of the Pro Days Sale. Even so, that may be disappointing news to those who just want to walk into a GameStop and walk out with a PS5. Other downsides include the fact that not every GameStop store will have PS5 consoles in stock, and that the PS5 restock will consist of bundles as opposed to just a single console purchase.
GameStop PS5 Restock Date
GameStop will reportedly have a variety of PS5 bundles on offer. Some bundles will come with big games likeSpider-Man: Miles MoralesandRatchet & Clank: Rift Apart, while others have titles likeElden RingandHorizon Forbidden West. It seems the officialPS5Horizon Forbidden Westbundleis going to be part of the deal, though it will also come with GameStop and PlayStation Network gift cards that shoppers will have to buy. Bizarrely, it seems many of the bundles come withBattlefield 2042included, which is odd considering the game has been critically panned and mostly abandoned by the community.
One reason why GameStop may be includingBattlefield 2042with these bundles is to get rid of its stock of the game.Battlefield 2042has been a failure for DICE and EA, with the game’s player count falling dramatically in the months since launch. However, theBattlefieldseries is generally well-received and fairly popular, and so it’s likely that GameStop expected to sell a lot more physical copies of the game prior to the backlash.
Regardless, those who still have yet to buy a PS5 and don’t want to pay a scalper can at least make an attempt to buy one this Friday, June 24 from GameStop if they are willing to spring for one of the bundles. Remember that the PS5 restock will not be happening at everyGameStop location, so potential customers should keep that in mind.
