In Search of Lost Time is a lengthy Quest that rewards a couple of Chests and an Achievement inGenshin Impact. Players need to help Broglie, a Hydrology Researcher, retrieve some monitoring data that sunk down along with the hydrology research stations.
There are three locations Travelers must visit to help Broglie and each one has its own Quest inGenshin Impact. TheIn Search of Lost Timecan only be triggered if the three previous Quests are completed: North, West, and South.

In Search Of Lost Time: South Quest In Genshin Impact
Luckily, players who haven’t completed the Archon Quest can still do the In Search of Lost Time Quest as they are not related.
To trigger theIn Search of Lost Time: SouthQuest, head to theNew Fontaine Research InstituteWaypoint and go southwest towards the broken bridge near the water. Speak with the distraughtBroglieand accept his request once he explains the situation.
Next, follow the Quest marker to the sunken research station and go inside to find a deactivated console inside the control room. Interact with the floating books to read theConch Madeline Stop Safe Operating Proceduresnote, which reveals that the fixed energy storage device is below the console, and it must be online for it to activate.
Get out of the control room and swim downtowards the enemy inGenshin Impact. Defeat it using the nearbyJellyfish’s Abilityand then activate theCrystal Mechanismto open the main door briefly.
Swim inside quickly and use the activated console. Players will now enter a point of view in which they musttransfer energy from one device to anotherby following these steps:
Swim back to the control room and activate the console to get themonitoring data. Head to the shore and give the data to Broglie to complete the In Search of Lost Time: South Quest.
In Search Of Lost Time: West Quest In Genshin Impact
To trigger theIn Search of Lost Time: WestQuest, travel to the tower found north of theMont Esus East, and climb to the top. After defeating a couple ofFatui Skirmishers inGenshin Impact, players will realize that the final floor is blocked and completing the Quest is the only way to open it.
From the blocked staircase, go down and read the paper on the table. There are two Fatui camps Travelers must visit to find out more information about the tower; one near the broken bridge and the other near a cliff.
Thefirst can be found west of the tower, but it doesn’t have any vital information.The second camp, on the other hand, is located southeast of the tower and contains a clue.
To force the hidden Fatui Skirmishers to come down from the tower,strike the cooking pot.Shumilovcomes runningalong with two other team members inGenshin Impact. Defeat the enemies then go back to the tower and climb to the highest floor.
Activate theStabilizerandhit it when the circle is around the blue zone. Climb the ladder andclaim the Precious Chest inGenshin Impact, then activate the console to getmonitoring data.

In Search Of Lost Time: North Quest In Genshin Impact
Triggering theIn Search of Lost Time: NorthQuest is possible by traveling northwest of theNew Fontaine Research Instituteto investigate another tower.Climb it from the side using the wooden ladder and head inside to hear voices from downstairs. Sadly, the path is blocked.
Interact with the energy transfer terminal and complete the following steps:
Open the second Precious Chest and take themonitoring datafrom the console for later.

In Search Of Lost Time Quest In Genshin Impact
In Search of Lost Timeis automatically triggered once players complete the previous threeQuests inGenshin Impact. Fast-travel to theNew Fontaine Research Instituteand speak with Broglie. Follow the Quest marker to thecentral processing stationand wait for the Hydrology Researcher to open the gate to claim a Luxurious Chest inGenshin Impact. Allow Broglie to tinker with the console on the lower floor only to be interrupted byMalinovskyi.
The Fatui runs away and Travelers must chase him down only to realize that Malinovskyi blocked all exits. Activate the console and move the energy from the fixed device to the transfer device on top of the bookshelf. Grab the container and place it next to the deactivated console to unlock the window.
Swim to the entrance of the sunken institute and dive to activate the console. Again, move the energy from one device to another to unlock the door. Ambush the unsuspecting Malinovskyi, and he will run away once his health is almost spent. Follow him by jumping into the water from the window and then using the underwater currents to reach the surface.
Defeat the Fatui Skirmisher again and forcefully take thestolen monitoring dataand give them to Broglie. With that, players receiveThe Forgotten RealmAchievement inGenshin Impactand the Quest is complete.
