Genshin Impact’s defining aspects are exploration and unique character design which, among others, have helped make the game one of the most popular titles in recent years. Rumors and leaks are frequent in the world ofGenshin Impact, and interesting info on Yae Miko has come up numerous times over the last couple of weeks. Since her appearances in two update previews, she has become one of the most popular characters in the game, so many are obviously excited to hear more about her arrival.
Even though there is a lot of hype surrounding Yae’s arrival, recent leaks have revealed that she might be much weaker than most players were expecting, especially with all the hype. A recent post on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has revealed a power comparison between Yae Miko and four-star character Fischl. It should be noted that this post compares Yae without any constellations withFischl’s constellation level 6. Fischl has a fairly similar kit to Yae Miko which is probably the main reason why she’s been included in this comparison. The given numbers show that Fischl actually performs better in certain aspects of the game which is quite surprising considering that she’s a four-star character.

Previously an update by a credible leaker named abc64 has revealed that Yae Miko is much weaker than expected. There are numerous problems including long cooldown and subpar damage. Yae Miko’s greatest issue seems to be the fact that she’s focused on single target damage. Apparently, she also has problems generating energy and many players are already predicting that pairing her with Raiden Shogun will be a must.Yoimiya had similar kit problemsafter her release and despite her exciting DPS playstyle, most players avoid using her nowadays because of similar issues.
The fact that Yae Miko’s secondary stat is Crit rate led most players to believe that she will beone of the strongest DPS charactersin the game which is unusual for a Catalyst user. Her elemental skill allows her to move rapidly, leaving behind “Lethal Sakura” which periodically deal damage to nearby enemies. Similar to the recently released Shenhe, she could find herself best fit for the sub-DPS role, rather than being the leading damage dealer.
Even though Yae Miko’s potential seems to be a disappointment so far, she is still in the beta phase meaning that miHoYo could still make some additional changes. This comparison could be slightly unfair considering that Fischl is still one of the mostunderrated support characters inGenshin Impact, probably because she was featured on banners that most players avoided, such as Albedo’s first appearance and Childe’s re-run.
Genshin Impactis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is currently in development with no confirmed release date.
